X Factor singer Joe McElderry has revealed that he picked his sing for tonight’s semi final weeks ago.

As his personal choice song tonight, Joe will be singing ‘Open Arms’ by Journey and he told The Jarrow and Hebburn Gazette:

“We’re going for the ballads this week, which will hopefully get us to the final.

“The song we’ve picked ‘to get us through’, me and Cheryl both picked out a couple of weeks ago. It’s a song you think ‘I don’t know that’, but when you hear it, you do.”

Joe refused to reveal what Simon Cowell has chosen as the winner’s sing this year, though rumours suggest that it is Miley Cyrus’ The Climb.

He said:

“I can say it’s a brilliant song and it really explains the full experience of The X Factor. Hopefully, I’ll get to use it.”
