X Factor: John and Edward Grimes ‘we were portrayed as villians’
X Factor brothers John & Edward Grimes have claimed that they were portrayed as villains on Saturday night’s show.
The Irish duo were booed by the audience as they seemingly sang over fellow auditionee Sian Paley and made her cry.
“We went on and everybody knew their words and then we went on and it all got mixed up,” the duo told the show’s official website.
“I think we were portrayed as the villains, but we don’t mind that. When we were up there and everyone was booing, we didn’t mind. Now we that know that they’re not our friends.
“They felt they were in a competition and they were just going to boo. We cheered for everyone else, whether they were bad or good, we were thinking of even making a banner, but I’m glad we didn’t.”

I recognize that the xfactor is a singing competition, but I also recognise it is crap reality tv…. and so therefore, a crap but highly amusing act such as the twins should win…. Too many of the contestants take themself seriously and its pathetic… like Rachel for example…
Half of the people in the singing business cannot even sing anyway!!! And rely heavily on playbacks etc… all the twins have done is perhaps highlighted and accentuated this area and at least they are not afraid to do that…. I think Simon branding them as vile creatures… is extremely harsh, considering he is a smug, greedy ugly man, who thinks to be a god of authority.
Whether John and Edward are niave or cocky or not, they are the ironic showbiz underdogs…. and I find it highly amusing if they were to win…. not because they deserve too, but because it undermines and ridicules the whole otion of over dramatised, reality television.

I have to admit, the twins have guts!!! I can’t think of anybody else who would keep on getting up there week after week. They are always HILARIOUS on stage but I would never buy their album so they cant win. I think they were painted as villains but they couldnt and wouldnt of been painted as villains if they hadnt done anything wrong nobodys perfect but its not the only time theyve been “painted as villains”.
Have never watched the show in my life but these guys are legends!

I note your immediate comments regarding John and Edward being Virgins.
For a start firstly, at only 18 years of age is that such a sin these days.
in our opinon good luck to them, first they are identical twins in case no-one recognises that, next they are single and Brothers. what I note is Jealousy, nothing but.If they wish to stay virgins for all time what is that to do with the rest of the world.They are heading for a career in this business. lesve them alone for Gods sake. Remember there is a very legal license to be whatever you want to be. this is their entitlement.if they wish to go it alone together it is nothing to do with society
I agree with Peter Benton. Doesn’t matter if they are virgin or not that doesn’t make a person any different. Since it is their lifes they can chose when do and if they ever want to. I know plently of 18 year olds who are virgins still.
Also i think it is kinda cute that they are waiting and that they have each other to go it alone. That is the great thing about a twin
sharing that circle (what people call it).
So yeah like Peter said them being virgin isn’t going to affect their careers. It isn’t like “omg!! they are virgin they can’t be on this show” Or whatever.
I love John and edward and they said so their selfs last night that they don’t want girlfriends yet and nothing can come between them.
