X Factor Judges Houses: Louis Takes The Over 25s To Rainy Dublin!
SPOILER ALERT!!! DETAILS OF TOMORROW NIGHT’S X FACTOR SHOW BELOW!!!!
Last but not least on tomorrow night’s X Factor show are the 25 and Over’s who have travelled to Dublin to perform in front of Louis Walsh and Westlife’s Kian Eagan Last week viewers saw how disappointed Louis was to get the older category and his obvious displeasure in the thoughts of mentoring some of the acts, are some of their journeys over before they’ve even sung?
Despite their last meeting with Louis at Bootcamp, the Over’s welcome Louis with rapturous applause and Louis promises that, despite his previous comments to some of the acts, he is going to treat this as a “new beginning” but the acts only have one last chance to prove to Louis that they can win him this years show, as the ever competitive Louis is determined to beat Simon, Sharon and Dannii.
Louis has handpicked all the songs today that he thinks best suit all the contestants, and first up to perform is 43 year old shelf stacker Icaro, but which song does Louis thinks best represents Icaro, a man Louis has been very vocal in not liking, well Radiohead’s Creep of course!
Icaro is determined to make Louis love him and asks, “when Louis says he doesn’t like me, how can he say that when he’s not tasted the honey? How can you say you don’t like an apple if you never had a bite of that apple? If you look into Louis’ eyes you can see he does really love me inside”.
Louis welcomes Kian to the “the world of Icaro” and asks what he thinks of the crazy Brazillian Welsh shelf stacker, “Well he obviously has a screw loose” is all that Kian can say. But Icaro is determined not to let Louis spoil his dream, “I will always but what I am, I just want people to appreciate the love I am giving them and have a smile on their face and that will be my prize”.
It’s a pressured and testing time for everyone today and for 38 year old primary school teacher and mother of two, Beverley she’s been pushed to the limits more than most. At just 10 days old her teenage Mum gave her up in the hope that someone else could give her a better life, and ever since then she’s never felt that anyone truly believed in her, until her first X Factor audition, “What Simon said to me at the first audition, (In my opinion one of the best auditions we’ve had all season), meant so much, he will never know how much that meant to me and no one will ever be able to take that away from me”. But with Louis now being her mentor Beverley has concerns as he didn’t share Simon’s beliefs as he compared her to a “backing singer”and thought she lacked “star quality”.
Belting out When You Tell Me That You Love Me by Diana Ross, Beverley is determined to prove to Louis she’s more than just a backing singer and that he can “have faith in me, I will not let him down and I’ll give it everything I can”.
All the contestants know that if today goes right they can quit the day job and start living their dream as a singer and for 35 year old carpenter Daniel today is a reminder of what could be, “I enjoy my job and the people I work with but it’s not what I wanted to do, not what I wanted to do at all, I’ve always wanted to do music”. As Daniel waits to sing in front of Louis the pressure seems to be getting to him, “my nerves have got to me and I’m shaking so much. I’m feeling very uncomfortable but it’s more important now than it’s ever been before and I’ve just got to try and calm myself down somehow”.
As Daniel steps up to perform his nerves get the better of him and he fluffs the first line of his rendition of Ct Stevens Father ands Son and has to start again. Has he blown his chances and has Louis picked up on his nerves? “He is different and we’ve never had anybody like him on the show, but he makes me very nervous I’m always nervous when he starts singing that he’s not going to be able to finish it and get there”.
It’s proven to be an emotional time for all the contestants, but for 35 year old mum of two Niki, her emotional journey started long before The X Factor. Due to some tough times whilst trying for a family she fell into depression, her weight ballooned and her singing dream disappeared. “I never went out and ate myself up to the point where I weighed 17 and a half stone and then I went to the gym, various slimming clubs and I lost eight and a half stone and I felt fantastic”, but then Niki’s world collapsed when she recently lost her Dad and it was only when she discovered the X Factor application form in her Dad’s possessions did she realise that now was the time to realise not only her but her Dad’s dreams as well. “I always try and not to think about my Dad when I am performing, but today I will be thinking of him because I need the extra strength”. After singing One Moment In Time Kian and Louis are worried about her performance, but both agree that if you close your eyes she has an amazing voice.
Next in is 46 year old housewife and mum of two Zyta who was originally from the Ivory Coast but has lived in England for 12 years. Zyta has great faith in her talent which come from her love of God and singing in church has given her an optimistic out look on life, “God knows what is best for everybody, if he is waiting for me to get through to the next stage of the competition miracles will be done so this means everything to me. There is no way for me to go home without getting through”. And true to form Louis has chosen an appropriate song for Zyta, Amazing Grace. Will God, or Louis perform a miracle and get Zyta through to the final stages?
Last in is 31 year old Daniel from Essex, a dancer teacher and a proud single Dad. “I have a beautiful son Theron who is three and he is everything really, he saved me he came along at a time when I needed him more than ever. Unfortunately I lost both my Mum and Dad within the space of a year, you couldn’t really comprehend that type of thing happening but then along comes this life in Theron, he saved me and I wouldn’t be in this scenario right now if it wasn’t for him. I think it is very important that he sees me going for what I believe in, it’s how my Mother and Father were with me, always pushing me to chase my dreams”.
With Louis choosing Damien Rice’s Cannonball for Daniel to sing, can he do enough to prove to Louis that he has what it takes to make it through to the final of the competition?
With all six performances over it’s down to Louis and Kian to make, or break six people’s dream and with Louis making it very vocal at Bootcamp that he didn’t want the older category, is he now confident that he has a potential winner?
