X Factor Judges Houses: Sharon Osbourne Takes 14-24 Girls To LA!
SPOILER ALERT!! DETAILS ON TOMORROW NIGHT’S SHOW AHEAD!!!!
Tomorrow night in Hollywood it’s the chance for the girls to show Sharon Osbourne what they’re made off. Before the girls perform Sharon makes it clear to them that she’s looking for only the best to take to the live finals, “The fun is over now its down to business girls, I want to win this year and I’m looking for someone really special, that star that could win”.
Joining Sharon to help her make that crucial decision is real life Diva Nicole Scherzinger , who shot to fame as the lead singer of the Pussy Cat Dolls and is also a solo artist in her own right. Nicole is no stranger to auditions so can empathise with the girls, “I’ve sung in front of millions of people, from auditions, on stage everything, I even auditioned for a singing show so I know exactly what they are all going through”.
Sharon has chosen one song for each of the girls that she feels will complement their vocal ability, and not only have the girls got the stress of performing in front of Sharon and Nicole, they’ve also got the added pressure of an audience, as some of Sharon’s Hollywood neighbours have popped over to see the drama unfold.
First up to perform is 19 year Kimberley who works as a barmaid in her parents pub but has always dreamt of being a star, “I came through the first auditions and I was just a dot in a crowd of thousands of people, and here I am today in the final 24 and this could change my life forever, I’m not just going to be Kimberley from the pub who comes down and pulls a few pints, or a random Tamworth girl, I could be somebody and I’d love to become a somebody from it”.
Singing I’ll Stand By You by The Pretenders, Nicole is certainly impressed with “the pipes on her” but Sharon is worried about her personality and whether she will “get on peoples nerves”.
Second in to perform is 15 year old school girl Victoria although she’s always had a love of singing she’s never had the chance to take it too the next level, until now, “back home in Glasgow I’ll sing in the bathroom but I’ll run the bath taps because they’re loud so no one can hear me singing. If I can perform here I may have the chance to sing in front of the nation and I won’t have to go back home just singing in the shower. This right here right now is my whole life.”
Singing Cyndi Lauper’s Time After Time Nicole is impressed with her style but both Sharon and Nicole are worried that Victoria is just too laid back. Has Victoria done enough or will she being back to Glasgow and back to being a school girl?
16 year old student Kim has been having singing lessons since she was nine years old, and singing has always been her biggest dream and now she is closer than ever to living that dream, “this is an opportunity of a life time, I am that close to where I want to and I want to do it for my family and myself to prove that I can do it. After singing the Bangles hit Eternal Flame Sharon has some concerns, “it’s strange to me that for someone so young her presentation is so old”.
23 year old Alisha from London is the oldest girl in the category and believes this is her last chance, ”I feel that I am behind and that time is running out, I’m not an old women but this just feels like the right time.”
Singing Chains by Tina Arena Nicole is blown away, ”I love her” but Sharon has concerns over her age “what she has got against her is her age, if she is put up against a 14 year old in the category she’ll look so much older than she actually is”. Walking away from her audition Alisha is left distraught, “when you want something like this so badly I am just so scared of not getting it, I just want to change my life”. Has she done enough to get through or will her age stand against her?
At just 14 years old Stephanie is the youngest contestant left in the competition, “I never thought this would happen to me, a couple of weeks ago I was at school and now I am in Sharon Osbourne’s house. It means so much to me, I just want to stand on that stage and sing to everyone and I want them to feel what I’m singing”.
With only one chance to prove that, despite her age Steph has what it takes to go through to the live shows she belts out Avril Lavine’s When You’re Gone. But has she done enough?
Last to perform is 14 year old Emily, who after recovering from a life threatening illness last year has a new found determination to live her dream, “I think that everyone is put on earth for a purpose and I think I have been given something to do and I’ve not done it yet, everyone has a time to go and it wasn’t my time to leave. I’ve been singing all my life and singing for charity or in the church is great and I love it but I want to do something more with my voice and I just don’t want to be just a normal girl who sings but doesn’t do anything with it and I think this is my chance to do it, I just don’t want to blow that chance”.
Emily sings Christina Aguileras Beautiful to the Hollywood crowd and Nicole comments that “she has so much soul for such a young girl. if someone really emotes that feeling from a truthful place it takes something out of you, and you could see at the end that it took something out of her”.
Once all six have performed Sharon and Nicole have the daunting tasks of deciding whish three make it through to the live shows and which three must go home, and Sharon is determined to win so the pressure is on to make the right choices.
