X Factor: Katie and Russell divide the judges

Russell and Katie are a couple who have been together for four years and on this week’s X Factor, they tell Dermot O’Leary that they met at Pontins as entertainers.
Russell explains how enjoyable it is to sing with your partner and why they are at The X Factor to audition together; “We’ve been together through thick and thin, there’s been lots of ups and downs, and we’ve come out stronger the other end from Pontins to Haven and a quick stop up at Gala Bingo, and now we’re at Alton Towers, doing what we love doing which is performing and entertaining. Knowing I’ve got Katie up on stage with me is a fantastic feeling, I’ve worked onstage, it can be a very lonely place, and it’s a bit less lonely when you’ve got that person there with you. Today is what we’ve worked so hard for, for so long, now is our chance to prove it.”
They take to the stage and perform ‘I’ll be There by Jackson’ Five.
After their performance the Judges seem to favour Katie’s voice and make this opinion clear, leaving Russell feeling as though he could have let Katie down and ruined their chances of making it through. The Judges have to decide if Katie can carry the duo onwards in the competition…
