X Factor: Kelly Rowland hits out at Tulisa for Misha Bryan ‘bully’ comments
A total furore erupted on tonight’s X Factor show, after Tulisa Contostavlos got personal with singing hopeful Misha Bryan.
Despite the fact that the teenage singer gave the performance of the night when she closed the episode with a stunning rendition of Prince’s Purple Rain, the Nu Dubz star decided to use her speaking slot to criticise Misha for her supposed ‘mean’ behaviour backstage.
Tulisa claimed to have seen a ‘different side’ to Bryan and accused her of picking on some of her own contestants while backstage.
Louis Walsh also waded in on the argument, accusing the diva of being ‘over confident’ and at the end even insisted that either Sami Brookes or Kitty Brucknell claimed they were bullied by her in the X Factor mansion.
Kelly Rowland looked furious at the onslaught her contestant faced (you can see the video here) and speaking afterwards on The Xtra Factor, hit out at her fellow judges saying personal comments should always be left backstage.
She told Caroline Flack and Olly Murs:
The real Misha is very humble and excited to be here. But I think it is important to realise, there is always one person’s side, the other person’s side and the truth. I think that bringing that forward, I personally don’t agree with it and if Tulisa felt like expressing herself that’s fine but I don’t think that it’s fair to bring it forward because we don’t know all of what happened.
Tulisa tried to defend herself, saying:
I feel like if you are going to portray a certain person on stage, it should be the same person that’s backstage. I feel like when it comes to energy, it’s a different character but when it comes to who you are, if she’s being someone else backstage and said a bitchy comment to one of my acts then I’m going to express it.
However, Gary Barlow was on Kelly’s side and on the main show insisted that the panel ‘shouldn’t get involved’ in contestant’s disputes. On The Ctra Factor, he added:
I think this back biting has started and I don’t think we should get involved.
Kelly was glad of the support and clarified her earlier comments, saying that Tulisa should have aired her grievances at another time, off air. She explained:
I think that deserves to stay backstage, I think there is a time and a place for everything and we were here tonight to judge them for what they did onstage and not for what is going on backstage.
So who do you agree with? Are you a Misha fan or a Misha hater? Leave your comments below.

Tulisa and Louis accused misha on live TV of “bullying others” when they literally bullied her on live TV.
Well done simon.
I think the whole evening was a fiasco..the judges constant bickering, not just about Misha is distracting from the show. That having been said, I had a strong feeling when I saw Misha’s expression when going off stage a couple of weeks ago with a look that seem to say ‘there…See how brillaint I am !!’
Tulisa and Louis should be embarassed that was way out of order. As Kelly said there is a time and place for everything, Tulisa knows she is not doing that well on the show. She should try other tactics and not bully people. Tulisa is always bringing up Kitty’s personality every week, enough already. Judge the perfomances and not what happens behind the scenes, rumours or what the papers say.
Totally agree with with Kelly.
Misha sounds like a cow, now she knows what it feels like to be bullied. Hope she goes, has no chance of winning now
S – Who knows what really happened? How can you agree with something you don’t know anything about? One person makes an accusation without having to explain facts and detail and you just jump on it and make a judgement. Has Misha been given any opportunity to defend herself?
You clearly fell for Tulisa’s tactics.
DK, Misha is a horrible person. Why should a bully stay when someone like Sophie is in it. remember when louis made a comment about Danyl in season 6, he was soon in bottom and came fourth despite been a really good singer.
Well the same will happen with Misha, she will be in bottom, probably be saved and then be one of the first to go when it’s public vote only.
Misha has always had the attitude of a bully. Bye bye Misha!
Hi S, I completly understand what you have been saying now. Misha is far from a nice person, really gald to see her placed in the bottom.
Well tomorrow nite will be interesting. Will misha still be there tomorrow? Personally, I feel Tulisa was unprofessional, it may well backfire on her.
The public have a right to know if people are presenting a persona on stage to win votes that is totally false.
TULISA WAS WELL WITHIN HER RIGHTS TONIGHT. Finally a judge that is real and that speaks up!!!
The public was told nothing – just a very unfair and unprofessional accusation without facts, details and opportunity for the accused to defend herself – you clearly believe in guilt without proof – this was blatant character assassination by Tulisa – highly unprofessional.
No need to write it down twice!!!! Just be honest, the cow is a bully. She deserves everything she gets
Tulisa was way out of order saying that tonight! The x factor is supposed to be based on the contestants talent and she’s trying to give us an impression of Mischa before we have time to decide ourselves.
So what if she is a bitch. Some of the most successful artists in the world have supposed to be absolute knob’s!! She’s talented!! That’s what should speak for her not somebodies biased opinion. Because let’s face it, Tulisa’s rooting for her own.
i’m torn on this as i think these sort of things should be done in private in the real world, but at the same time because we have to judge the contestants i’d like to know if someone was horrible to others.
Don’t chat SHIZZZZ, Tulisa was out of order, People knows she shouldn’t be a judge and her doing this isn’t helping her case, obviously if your in a competition your going to be tense and you are going to snap quickly, the fact that it wasn’t necessary to be put on stage (that she didn’t tell her behind stage one time and the behavior continued)just shows what a vindictive person she is, to try and sabotage a persons opportunity of winning. She never witnessed the behavior she refers to as ‘bullying’ so who is she to say anything, as she doesn’t know if its true. I think the really bully here is Tulisa, because bully’s like crowds to show off to!
DPMO I think you and other posters on here seem to have a worrying tolerance for bullying.
Firstly your wrong, Tulisa said she had seen the bullying, she told Misha she had seen a side she didn’t like and explained about the bullying. So please get your facts right.
Also, Misha and other contestants use their nice personas to win votes. The X factor while primarily a singing competition, isn’t solely a singing competition, other factors come, and should come into account, like entertainment, star quality, and yes personality.
If Misha is portraying a sweet nice girl to the public to win votes, but is bullying not just one but several contestants backstage, the public have a right to know and should not tolerate it.
As someone who was bullied myself, I wish I had someone like Tulisa to stick up for me instead of the so many others who just let it continue.
Max King, if you’ve been bullied yourself you should know how much of a strong and emotive word ‘bullying’is and that it isn’t something people should just throw around on national tv. People like you need to stop condemning people without knowing the facts. You’re no better than Tulisa and Louis who have only heard things from their acts i.e. Kitty and Rhythmix but haven’t actually seen anything first hand and couldn’t give any proof of what she’s supposedly done other than saying ‘I’ve heard you’ve made mean comments’. Well stop the press! A group of young girls living together in a competiton don’t get on and heated words are exchanged. Tulisa was out of order – so vindictive and cruel.
Due to the fact no one but the contestants can actually know the true story of what is going on backstage, people shouldn’t be changing their minds about Misha,
one of the contestants may be a Nazi in their own private time we wouldn’t know therefore everyone should be judged on their singing abilities and nothing else.
It was extremely unprofessional what Loius and Tulisa did and you never know their acts might feel threatened by Misha and have decided to tell the judges false things about her and others have jumped on the bandwagon
Basically that essay was just meant to say nobody knows the truth so just leave it and don’t judge someone on hear say
So M you are advocating allowing the bullying to continue, as it should only be about singing? Sorry your deluded and wrong.
To quote Tulisa “you must be mental”
Louis apologised for using the word bullying. He said it was a mistake made in the heat of the moment. Did Tulisa use the word? Can’t remember. So maybe it was not bullying after all just boasting? Who knows?
I hate bullies. People used to hate Kitty because she was a drama queen and an attention-seeker. What’s the problem of that? It’s not like she’s gonna be mean to other people!
Now when it comes to bullying, if it is TRUE what was said tonight then I think that Misha deserved it. You can’t just be fake and put some crocodile tears while you are being interviewed. «Oh I was abandoned when I was 3 months old»; «I love my auntie, she’s been so supportive»; «I want this so much, it’s my dream *cries*»). I agree with Tulisa:
The energy you put on stage should be portrayed as the one of a different character, but you should be the same person on stage and backstage.
People who buy records want to relate with the artist and no one can ever relate to someone who’s bitchy. I love Misha as an artist but tonight her whole attitude while listening to the judges was awful.
I hope she doesn’t win, she can be runner-up but not winner. If she wins, she will turn into a really cocky person and nobody will be able to stand her! If Cher Lloyd had won, the same problem would have happened.
I think you’re going a bit too far. I don’t approve bullying at all but there is no clear evidence so why all that hate?
This one was for Maggy!
I think all bullies should be exposed wherever whenever! Tulisa and Louis weldone for speaking up and shame on the other two who tried to defend her! if what happens backstage doesnt matter then why show us a clip of Frankies drunken night before his performance?!
tbh i’ve always seen the pretentious side to Misha and no its not just about the voice and performance, the winner should not only be able to sing but also be a good example as a role model! Misha#Fail
What bullying? Where are the facts, the details, the accusers? If anything, Misha was bullied in front of millions of viewers, at a time when she had no opportunity to defend herself. People like you are quickly at making judgements without knowing any facts or both sides of the story.
DK I completely agree! I just don’t know what’s wrong with some people e.g. Max King and MasonJY and why they are so quick to condemn someone without knowing any of the facts. Unfortunately, in today’s celebrity culture people are so quick to believe everything that someone on TV says and it’s a real pity that people allow themselves to be so easily manipulated. If you’re not there, you don’t know the people, or have any proof or know the facts it’s all just hearsay and Chinese whispers
DK, shut the **** up! Misha is a bully, don’t defend her
Misha B has more talent in her little finger then Tulisa and Walsh together.
Tulisa s comments were without back up based on idle rumour , a low blow to distroy a talented contestant and immature , she is not suited to be a judge and has lost my respect. This is a talent competition not a get on well with everyone behind the stage , why should we like or need to get on with everyone . I hope that there are not any shallow and easily led people out there to jump in a conclusion and create yet another Jade Goody hysterical case out of idle rumour
Tulisa has the Right to say this if misha Is going to be a cow backstage and and say nasty things to other contestants then it should be exposed if you want to support a big head then thats your choice tulisa has the Right to speak freely thats what should be great about our country when else would we find the truth
Have no idea what is going on back stage but what I do get tired of hearing is that Misha has the most talent or was the act of the night blah blah blah. While I have always thought Misha was talented and a great performer, she is not my cup of tea. I find that others are just as talented. Newspaper Writers and Bloggers who are accusing X factor judges of creating drama to increase the ratings are certainly doing the same to stir interest in their columns.
it is reported that kelly rowland treatened to chuck misha b out of the show because she was treating the crew like dirt you can see it on her face arrogant good on you tulisa
What is everyone thinking? Who are we to judge when we have no evidence there’s an ounce of truth in this “bullying” claim? It could well just be sour grapes because Misha has such great talent and leaves all the other contestants standing.
Did Tulisa hear or see the problem herself or does seeing another side of Misha B mean she has just gone with rumour? We don’t know and I hate bullies but this was very one sided. A shame as I like Tulisa but she and Louis came across a bit childishly last night.
The reality is NONE of us know what did or did not happen backstage. It was completely unprofessional for Tulisa to do what she did last night. THAT was disgraceful bullying. If Misha had been “mean” to Tulisa’s contestants backstage, Tulisa should have requested a word with her, Kelly and the show’s producers to get to the truth. Her behaviour cannot be excused. Was it designed to cause a backlash to Misha B as she was fast becoming a favourite? I don’t know, but Tulisa should be careful of throwing allegations without proof. Bullying should NEVER be tolerated no matter who is doing it. Absolutely shocking and appalling behaviour from Tulisa and Louis. All of who have been bullied or falsely accused should be standing up for Misha. She did not deserve that. Being talented and confident does not make you mean. Taking pot shots at someone who cannot defend themselves (and of course her accusers have not been named)IS.
That was very low from Tulisa – criticising Misha about something off-stage in front of millions of viewers, at a time when Misha had no opportunity to defend herself. This is very unfair character assassination. Very unprofessional from Tulisa and I have lost all respect for her as a judge and person
We get the message DK
One word about Tulisa ‘VILE’
One word about Tulisa: BULLY
I actually meant to put:
One Word about Misha: BULLY
LOL
Imagine your child was being bullied at school by a bully, while simultaneously auditions for the school production were going on and the bully was doing well.
What would you as a parent do? Let your child continue to suffer and be bullied, or stand up and point it out this monster was bullying your child and risk the baying mob accusing you of wanting to ruin the other child’s chances and being sour.
POWER TO TULISA, I hope you continue to stand up for those who are bullied!!!
If Tulisa had heard that Misha was bullying other contestants or was making improper comments to them, SHE SHOULD HAVE REPORTED IT TO THE PRODUCERS, not waited until she was on TV. That she waited and did not go through the proper channels is proof to me that it was character assassination.
I don’t agree with how Tulisa handled the situation, I love misha and hope there is no affecting her votes as we don’t know exactly what happened. If she is hurting people’s feelings then it can be handeled backstage as accusing someone of such a thing on national tv is horrible and Tulisa was just bullying her. This should be dealt with by the contestants backstage, they are all old enough to deal with it them selves.
thought it was totally inappropriate to accuse Misha of bullying on x factor Show last night in front of all the Judges. The girl had little chance to defend herself in what amounted to bullying itself. I thought she showed maturity in not rising to these accusations and not naming the accusing party in the Xtra factor afterwards. Although I think I suspect who it may be .There are two sides to every story and it would be interesting to here the whole story but as the audience were not privy to thewhole facts it was unprofessional to carry on like this on a live show I think both Louis and Tullisa should apologise live on next weeks show and in the mean tiime should do some serious thinking about the way they both acted. If this was a ploy to detract votes from Misha it is disgusting or if it was a publicity grabbing stunt equally so.
Max King I’m so glad I’ve the the chance to shut you up!! Firstly I used to work for The Voice and Young Voices Magazine aimed at the young black and ethnic communities and I have PERSONALLY worked with Tulisa and she is a nasty rotten cocky cow!!!! FACT!
If Misha is a bully then she should have raised a proper complaint off screen to have it dealt with, are you dumb enough to believe that every reality person, celebrity ect… . Is the same backstage as on stage?
Quite frankly I’d be inclined to pull the race card…. . Kitty behaviour and attitude when she got through and her TV clips were appalling and very CONFIDENT, but that was ok wasnt it? But the one person on the show who actually has real talent and has worked hard to be know BEFORE X factor isn’t allowed to realise how good she is? And IF she didn’t realise how good she is, then she would be told ‘you need to realise your talent’
Let’s not get started on real bullying, as Tulisas cousin and bandmate dally was only arrested the other day for beating his girlfriend-Clearly that family knows all about bullying!
Tulisa needs to get over the fact that she is a talentless ghetto hoe and that Misha will musically batter her!!! FACT!
Its a competition, I strongly believe that what happens back stage should stay backstage. If Tulisa hated what she supposedly saw or heard she should have taken care of the situation right away on the spot, or spoken to the contestants involved backstage. There are millions of artist and stars out there that have incredible talent and have bad personalities. Who are any of us to judge let he who is without sin cast the first stone is how i feel. no one is perfect no one, and i cant honestly see Misha B bullying Kitty or the others are you kidding me, its a competition, get with the program or get out the kitchen if you cant take the heat.
no mishas a bully and should be disqualified
Barnsey
You seem to me like a man with a chip on his soldier. The fact Tulisa doesn’t have a very nice cousin, is no reflection on herself. I have a cousin currently in prison, I’ve never committed a crime in my life. Your logic is extremely flawed.
As for “shutting me up” you failed. It will take more than a sad individual such as yourself to shut me up.
Praise for Tulisa for standing up to the bully, and those vile enough to defend her.
It is a shame Misha side as come out she bullied kids in school I though she had changed great voice but she will never get any where with attitude
tulisa and louis were rite to say that misha is a bully and she should go tonight i dont like her shes mean
Need to correct Joanne. Bullying other contestants should not be a valid tactic at Misha’s disposal.
Well done to Tulisa for standing up for her and Loui’s acts and I hope she continues to fight against bullying, unlike other disgusting individuals on here who seem in favour of allowing bullying to continue and just forcing the issue under the carpet and hoping it goes away by saying it can only be backstage
The problem with this place is that when people realise that a person ain’t going to stand for their bullshit and can stand up for themselves then they label them a bully. Who is Tulisa to speak she called herself a musician and can’t define the difference between a rock song and a pop song. You can put a chav in a band, covered them in couture and make them a judge on xfactor but she will always remain a chav. As for Louis he needs to get a life nobody respects him he should be happy westlife had a great career because that’s the only accolade he has to refer to- his category is a circus. Even if Misha doesn’t win she’ll do well unlike many of the screeching cats on that show.
You’d think that after Louis Walsh was recently unjustly accused of rape he’d think twice before making character assassinations on national TV without any proof
I wonder why Kelly is defending her? The OJ-Factor?
I think people are forgetting that this is the Xfactor, which is 70% is a singing contest, 30% star quality, which entails character, personality and performance ability. If we aren’t seeing Misha’s full character or personality then Tulisa has got every right to say what she said. I don’t think at all it was unproffessional, but actually good advise. Lets not forget it was in the papers last week that Kelly Rowland had a severe word with Misha for her attitude towards some of the XFactor staff, telling her she wouldn’t carry on the show if she continued. And, if Misha’s personality isn’t so important, then why has everybody made such a song and dance about Sophie Habibus.
If Misha b has been bulling contestants she should be kicked off the show!!
Or do ITV condone this sort off behavior ???
Kelly or Misha have not denied what has happened they have just said it should remain backstage !!!!!!!!
Whether Misha is guilty or not of bullying – to air it on live television is NOT the way to sort it out. Tulisa strikes me as a bitch who was once part of a girl gang who used to go around beating people up – she’s such a hypocrite.
the only bullies i see here are Tulisa and Louis, that was shown on National TV. Can’t judge Misha B cus i don’t know the facts. It’s all just hear say. Think for yall selves for once.
most of England’s been looking 4 d opportunity to voice their hatred n they just found it. Mischa’s now a confirmed bully based on hearsay (from a desperate English stripper). Character assassination of select ppl n hyping mediocrity (e.g. Cheryl n Becks)have always been a pathological talents of the English. Last yr it was Cheryl on Wagner n Gamu n meanwhile Cher Lloyd had a ‘great personality’. yrs passed n still I see no changes…
I DONT BELIVE ALL DIS ALL WAS PLAN
I totally agree with kelly and gary it was the wrong timing, tulisa should not have said that .Afterall there are a lot of things that go on backstage that viewers dont know about. Why did she then have to bring it up.it was so unprofessional. She really needs to grow up
firstly S
STOP BEING A PRICK!!!
Misha is a talented singer.
Evn if she did bully sum1 backstage Tulisa had no right to say it on a live national show. What she did woz jhuss 2 sabotage misha as she knws misha wld gt lots of votes n is likely 2 win
i also fiink disz kinda has 2 do wiv race as well
tulisa is a chav, she woz a bully (the worst one in fact) in school.
Tulisa fiinks jhuss cuz she’s on x factor she’s allowed 2 walk over ppl.
Life dnt work dat waii
if she tries that in america i swr dwn evry1 will hate her 4 it
x factor is meant 2 be about talent not whaa ur like
we see ppl like rihanna, nicki minaj, beyonce, katy perry n lots more…..hw do we noe dey aint arrogant or chat shit bout ppl?
Lastly hw do we evn noe whass goin on backstage….we dnt noe whass goin on n we’re 2 gullibe that we fall for things easily n instantly believe whaaa ppl like bumlicker louis n chav-hoe tulisa want us 2 believe.
On datt judgin panel i fiink only 2 ppl have a right 2 2 tell yhuu if yhuu can
If yhuu cn b famous or suttin n dey r Kelly and Gary (they’re knwn over the world unlike bumlick n chav)
I’m 15, this is what i fiink n idc whaa yhuu sayy, am gnna sayy whaa i fiink
