Tonight we see 19 year old Glaswegian Leon Jackson try to get through the X Factor bootcamp so that he can provide a better life for his mum.
Leon performed a distinctly mediocre audition piece, he failed to impress the judges in the slightest. But he managed to find his way through to the final twelve 14-24 year old males.
I am assuming that Leon made it through due to his looks and his story, because he was nowhere near the best singer in the group, or if he was, he definitely failed to sell himself well during the first stage of bootcamp.
So what’s the general opinion? Should a good sob story and pretty eyes be enough to get you through the X Factor? Let us know what you think, leave a comment below!

I think Leon Jackson got through to the final 6 because of his VOICE. He has a really beautiful and deep voice. He’s very talented, no doubt about that. Do you have the videos of him in the boot camp?
I don’t agree with a lot of that. Leon has an amazing voice and that purely how he got through.
He wasn’t great at bootcamp but he CAN sing, and i have 2 say a lot of people messed up at boot camp and still got through.
Out of the Guys that got through to the next stange I must say that I think Leon has the best voice.
I mean some other the others (Luke for example) hardly have a strong voice like leon as much as I like him.
I loved Leon. I though he was adorable and had a great voice and personality. Memorable from his very first audition

leon gat in cus he is a good singer nah cus of his story or his looks he can sing !!! :D.. they let him trough before he said about his mammy :D..

Leon is amazing he has been my favorite contestant from the begining and even though he struggled at bootcamp he is still my favorite singer, he does not keep repeating his story to get sympathy like some of the other contestants
im going to have to disagree. i thought leon was a fantastic singer. his audition was amazing, and you could tell he was naturally talented. Everyone has their backgrounds but you shouldnt use it against him. he totally deserved to get through, and im sure many other people would agree.
are you mad, leon is just about the best male singer there, that sad ‘nauseating’ theatre performer is uselss. the boy who cries EVERYDAY is the sob story. so who else have you got left? the chinese guys ok. his audition was amazing, even the judges liked it, so how can you put him down? are you a judge?

I know Leon myself, he was at my school and he’s a really, really sound guy, hope he gets through!
there is no way danni would have only put leon through because he is a “sob story”. there is far too much at stake here, he got through because he has something special.
this show is all about raw talent and imo leon has it. remember will young?? raw talent !!
leon has respect for his mom which i think is fantastic in this day and age.
i think he has a great voice and will surprise us all on the live show.
I only hope he gets a chance to really shine with a good song..and not a stupid pop song!!!

I have loved Leon since his first audition, he has a wonderful voice and something a bit different too. i think he has a good personality too- he has respect for his family and he has a sense of humour. the girls whose comment is on here you are so lucky to know him! i will be backing him all the way in the live shows

Leon Jackson is my favourite ever X Factor contestant. His voice is amazing for an 18 year old. He has everything to make it in the music business.
I beg to disagree with the comment. Leon is really a good singer and deserved to win. The fact that he has a sad story should not work against him. Its actually good that he can use his talent to improve things for him and his loving mum. I wish him success in his career.
