X Factor: Lloyd Daniel’s mum says ‘they’re picking on my boy’
Lloyd Daniel’s mum has blasted ITV’s The X Factor, insisting that they are not taking proper care of her boy.
Lloyd has faced heavy criticism from show judge Louis Walsh week after week and his mum Lisa has threatened to pull him from the competition if the bombardment continues.
Lisa told WalesOnline:
“At the start the judges were asked who the viewers should look out for and he said, ‘That little Welsh boy’, but now he’s completely reversed.
“Sometimes he says Lloyd is a little pop star and the next he says he should be in bottom two – I don’t think he knows what he’s saying. It’s just constant negativity, I wish he’d give him a break. Hopefully he’ll stop picking on him now the twins have gone because he won’t be threatened by Lloyd stealing his act’s fans.”
She added:
“If things got really bad, I would consider taking him off the show. ”
Lisa also hit out at the X Factor’s ITV2 spinoff show ‘The Xtra Factor’ for some of the phone calls they have put through to Lloyd.
She said: “They’ve been really negative towards Lloyd on the Xtra Factor, especially with viewers’ calls.
“They know what’s going to be asked before they play it live, so they are choosing viewers who just want to pick on him. I wanted to say something to the producers because they’ve really grilled him on there, but Lloyd asked me not to.
“And last week they showed coverage of fans for each of the remaining contestants, except Lloyd. Don’t tell me they can’t find a Lloyd fan to comment – they’re everywhere. Perhaps they’re trying to sway votes because they know he has so many fans.”
Lisa also claims that her son has been treated differently to other contestants and that he is being left to languish whilst the judges focus on other acts.
She said: “After Rachel was in the sing-off, the judges were all behind her trying to find ways of getting her to connect with the audience, but Lloyd’s been there twice and they don’t seem to care about him. What’s good enough for one should be good enough for another. You’d think as the youngest contestant they’d actually give him more support but they don’t.
“Also when Simon changed Danyl and Jamie’s songs last minute, it was publicised to gain them sympathy votes, but when Cheryl changed Lloyd’s song from Alicia Keys to Leona Lewis, no-one knew about it.
“They really mess him about.”

I think he has had unfair criticism from Louis every week, it should be constructive critisism so they can learn and improve. How does Louis saying there are lots of people who like you but I don’t benefit Lloyd all it does is knock his confidence.

I think Cheryl favoured joe over Lloyd because each week she’d say how proud she was of Joe but never of Llyod. I love lloyd sooo much and i can;t beleive he’s gone! Louis was just unneccassarily rude and never gave him any constructive critism. If llyod was given the help that others receieved he would by far be up for the win! His fan base is huuuuge and he such an amazing singer! He has the most popstar qualities and i can’t wait for him to release a single! Go on llyod, we’re all behind you! x

Louis Walsh kept bringing Lloyd down, it was real mean. Louis always had something nasty to say about Lloyd but Lloyd is a million times better than Jeward (Nothing against John and Edward they were entertaining) Lloyd sings better than Eoghan too but Eoghan got good comments. The judges even found nice thigs to say about Jeward nearer the end. But whatever Lloyd is amazing and a total hottie
Lloyd in my opinion had the most interesting and soulful voice in the competition – Whitney Houston even said that Lloyd has a great tone to his voice (and she should know a thing about music). I’m nearly 40 and pop is not my thing but given the right opportunity and time to grow Lloyd will be massive – i for one will be buying his records. He also has the X factor, not only sounding like a pop star but really looks like one – and in this industry the way you look is almost as important as the music. Above all else he seems to have really good vibes is genuine and was clearly very well brought up. His parents should be very proud.
I think Louis was mean to him. He was great, He could sing well and was absolutely gorgeous! If he realeases a record I would absolutely but it.
I love Lloyd hes absolutely brill.. Louis was only jealous as Jedward werent half as good as Lloyd.. I mean im irish and ashamed to b da same nationality as Louis and Jedward.. love u Lloyd.. hope u release a new song 4 us soon…… xoxoxo
Louis is horrible and he should really get a life, picking on a 16 yr old its just sad … im like a really big fan off lloyd he was the best singer and different to everyone else because they all sound the same

Louis was HORRIBLE to Lloyd. I mean, jedward CANT SING to save their lives (no offence in all) but they cant seriously and they got good comments part from Simon until l8a on. Lloyd had the BEST by far voice in the competition, and Lloyd could have got a record out, whilst Joe, even though he has a good voice, wont coz he only sings BALLARDS. How BORRINNGGGG!!!! ;(
Lloyds mum is DEFO right. I think the judges just thought that lloyd was a thing standing in the way, and he lloyd could do nothing about it. Poor thing,he threatend to quit the show. Thats what people like Louis Walsh does to young talented people.

lloyd daniels was the best singer in the competition and put the most work into everything,i think lloyd should have won.i really hope he gets a record deal because i would buy the first copy.when lloyd left i dont think i smiled 4 another week or 2.

Come on! Lloyds mum is 100% right and if you’re reading this Lisa, I tell you I was backing Lloyd to win and Im still a massive fan of him. He was the youngest and I dont think it was harsh that he got soo many neative comments. And yes, no one knew about his song changes and no one tried to get him to connect with the audience despite him being in the bottom two twice. I luv your son to bits. I think he has a very likeable personality, hes gorgeous, hes adorable, he has the ability to sing and entertain and he shouldve gone much further. I wold definately buy his album as any other decent person out there would xxx
