Louis Walsh may not remember it, but Oritse from X Factor band JLS assured ITV that he has in fact met his mentor years before he auditioned for the show.

Speaking to the ITV X Factor website Oritse revealed:

"I was working on a street team in Soho in Central London a few years ago – I was just a teenager".

"My job was to give out fliers and do promotions for the clubs, trying to get the customers in".

"I saw Louis Walsh in the street. I knew who he was and I pretended I didn’t, I just went up to him and asked him if he’d like to go to a club – he was like (does spooky Louis impression) "No, I’m not interested, I’m not interested."

"Then I said, ‘Aren’t you Louis Walsh, I’m a singer, would you mind if I sang for you and you could give me your opinion of my talent?’"

And he told me, "I’m not interested, I don’t want to know".

Oritse has since confronted Louis about their encounter and unsurprisingly the music mogul showed no remorse.

Said Oritsé, "I have spoken to Louis about it but he just laughed".

"He said, ‘It’s funny, isn’t it a small world?’"

"And he said,’ It just goes to show if you want something enough you will find a way to get it.’"

Oritsé added:

"It’s weird to think that he didn’t want to know – and it’s crazy that he’s now so involved"!
