The newspapers have already been comparing Welsh X Factor singer, Lucie Jones to Charlotte Church and the identity of her new boyfriend is only going to fuel that fire. Charlotte is living with rugby star, Gavin Henson and Lucie is dating Richard Jaycock, a member of her local rugby club.

A friend of Lucie told The Sun: “Her singing coach isn’t the only thing she’s got in common with Charlotte Church. Lucie makes no secret about the fact she loves rugby players – and she thinks Richard is great.

“They’re always keeping in touch, and Lucie even invited him to come down to London to watch her last week, which shows how much she cares about him.”

The pal added: “In some ways, the timing couldn’t be worse.

“Lucie knows it’s going to be difficult starting a new relationship while she’s on the show. But she’s determined to make things work.”
