Welsh teenager Lucie Jones appeared on tonight’s X Factor and she was truly astounding.

She told Dermot:

“Hi, I’m Lucie, I’m 18, and I’m from a small village just outside Cardiff. My village has a couple of hundred people living there, we’ve got a village hall and a shop, and that’s it. I’ve got the whole village behind me today, they’re all rooting for me. I just want to get out, get up there on the big stage. “

Mum says, “she’s got her eyes on the bright lights”

“The X Factor is my ticket out of here. Out of the little village on top of a hill, with all the sheep. Today is the most important day of my life so far, without exception,” says Lucie.

Lucie then launches into performance of Whitney Houston’s ‘I Will Always Love You’ and wows the panel.

She, of course makes it through to bootcamp and little birdies have told me that she is definitely through to the live shows. I think she will be quite versatile and one of the few able to cope with the inevitable Abba and Michael Jackson week!
