X Factor: Marcus Collins insists he has NOT been dropped! – Little Mix debut album due at end of 2012 (VIDEO)

Marcus Collins has set the record straight and denied rumours that he was being dropped by his record label.

It was reported last month that the X Factor runner was on the brink of being dumped by Simon Cowell’s company SYCO, because of disappointing sales of his last single ‘Mercy.’

However, he has insisted that contrary to the reports, he actually has some big news and plans in the pipeline for further music releases.

Marcus finished second on last year’s X Factor series and although his initial single and album sold well – “Seven Nation Army” reached number 9 in the UK single charts while his self titled album reached number 7 – his last release ‘Mercy’ reached only 194….a pretty poor performance we think you’ll agree.

But Collins isn’t giving up and earlier this week he tweeted:

“Just had some Great news from Management and Label! MR COLLINS is a happy man!”

“Usually when people tell lies about me I feel hurt but on this occasion I’m made up! Coz I’m gonna make sure the truth is comin out!”

He then promised his fans that there will be more music, adding:

“In other News NO!!! I have not been dropped haha x “

While Marcus is currently planning a second album – we hope! – last year’s X Factor winners Little Mix are still working on their first. It had previously been reported that the girl group would be rush releasing their first record, but this week the ladies have confirmed that their first collection of songs won’t become available until the end of the year.

The four piece band will release their debut single Wings in just a few weeks time, but the album will not be hot on it’s heels.

Speaking about the album, Jade Thirlwall told Glamour:

“Well, we’re not allowed to say how many names yet or how many tracks are on it or anything, but it’s coming out at the end of this year.”

Teasing the tracks on the record, she continued:

“It’s like old school pop, RnB but with modern beats in it. Really showing off that we’re a vocal harmony group as well.

“And I think that the good thing about us is because we are so different and we have got so many different tastes in music, they’re all on one album so hopefully it will be really interesting.”

Leigh-Anne Pinnock added:

“It’s kind of like oldschool RnB with modern beats, so… It’s kind of like a combination of all our individual styles and stuff so, we’ve taken different influences for music. Jesy’s quite into hip-hop, I’m more into old school RnB, and then Perrie takes influences from like rock music and Jade’s quite mo-town, so it’s really interesting…”

We imagine that Little Mix’s album will be released around the same time that the X Factor live shows start, therefore allowing the ladies to make the most of the hype surrounding the ITV show.
