Marcus Collins has released the official music video for his latest single ‘Mercy.’
The X Factor runner up premiered the video for his second single, from his self titled debut album last night and so far, fans reactions seem very positive towards the new song.
On Marcus’ Facebook page, one fan wrote:
“You are superb dear Marcus and I stand by my vote for you to win the X Factor – you definately have The Voice which incidently I only watched once I must admit as it has not the humour of the X factor and it hasn’t got the lovely Gary Barlow x”
‘The music vid is so cute. Love it, I was hoping Marcus would still sing the same type of songs and he didnt let me down :)’
In the video below, the former hairdresser – who is sporting a few musical notes niftily shaved into his hair – is seen singing as he walks down a street, and in hot pursuit are his very own brass band and backing singers.
The group shimmy and sing all their way to a nightclub, where they properly perform the song for a waiting audience.
It was confirmed recently that Collins co-wrote “Mercy”, with Lee McCutcheon and Lisa Green, and he admitted that he was keen to release an original track, after his cover of ‘Seven Nation Army’ was put out as the lead single from his album.
‘Mercy’ will be released in the UK on June 3, 2012.
Speaking about the upbeat track, Collins revealed that he was keen to keep things upbeat and make people ‘smile,’ explaining:
“No-one wants to see misery at the moment.
“Smile. Make people smile with you. And do songs that make people smile. We’ve never needed that more than at the moment.”
‘Seven Nation Army’ peaked at number nine on the UK chart back in March.
