X Factor: Mary Byrne to sell ‘Mine & Yours’ on QVC
Mary Byrne will release her debut album in time for Mother’s Day this month and it has been revealed that the star will take to shopping channel QVC to shift some extra copies.
The 51 year old Dublin singer shot to fame on the last series of The X Factor, in which she came in fifth place. The former Tesco till operator subsequently landed a record deal with Sony Music and worked with industry expert and producer Nigel Wright on her first record – Mine and Yours.
She will now follow in the footsteps of Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle – who launched her debut album I Dreamed A Dream on QVC – and appear on the TV channel at the end of this month.
A source told The Sun:
“It makes perfect sense to flog the album on a phone-in show.
“Mary’s fans have already proved they like using their phones by voting her through to the X Factor semi-finals. It could go to Number One. It worked for Susan Boyle and will be a huge Mother’s Day hit.
“Mary is really excited. She knows she’s not as big as SuBo but she wouldn’t mind a few of her millions.”
Mine and Yours will hit the shelves and be available for download in Ireland on March 25 and the UK on March 28.
