The last person we ever thought would enter rehab for a drug addiction is X Factor hunk Matt Cardle, but according to reports, he has done…
It has been reported that Cardle has voluntarily entered himself in to The Priory to beat his addiction to prescription drugs.
The former X Factor winner checked into rehab on Sunday, according to The Sun in a bid to kick his addiction to Temazepam and Valium. Ohh errr!
Admittedly, it has been a hectic couple of years for Matt Cardle. A source told the newspaper that after making his last two albums independently, he couldn’t cope with the stress and reportedly turned to prescription drugs.
Matt will take a 28-day programme in rehab to clean up his act, before taking to the road for his UK tour, which kicks off next April.
The source said: “Matt is all over the place at the moment. His last two albums have done well in the charts, but the amount of work he has had to put in has been unreal – and it all started to get too much for him.
“In order to calm himself down he started taking Valium and Temazapam, but things got so bad that he couldn’t get up without taking the pills”.
Unfortunately, Matt has not commented on the situation as of yet, nor has Matt’s representative.
However, there was quite the odd tweet from Matt on Sunday evening, in which he wrote: “Never in my life have I ever needed the soothing sounds of Sir David Attenborough as I do right now…. Thankyou David, #theDA #planetearth”.
Matt’s latest album, Porcelain, entered the UK charts at number 11 back in October, which is a pretty good achievement for an independently released album.
