So Nicole Scherzinger quit The X Factor right? She was ‘heartbroken’ and full of angst but ultimately chose her music career over her television work right?
Well The Sun says it’s true but no, Nicole’s rep is denying everything.
Insiders had reported that the Pussycat Doll was feeling a bit rubbish about the fact that she hasn’t released an album in three years and after heading back to the studio to work on some new tunes, she tearfully decided to turn down the chance to reunite with Simon Cowell on the new series of his ITV show.
Sources say Cowell was keen to have the brunette beauty back by his side, along with Cheryl Cole and Louis Walsh, as he attempts to boost the competition’s falling ratings and diminished audience share.
Well it looks like the music mogul could still get his wish as a rep for Scherzy told Metro that ‘Nicole hasn’t quit the show,’ and is still in talks with channel execs.
Meanwhile, Cowell admitted this week that he wants to win Cheryl back too, despite previously firing the star from his American series. At the time it was rumoured that Cole’s Geordie accent caused problems for the US audience, though we think it was more likely her massive hair, however it seems Simon thinks Chez still has pulling power back in the UK.
Cheryl added to the speculation today when she celebrated #ThrowbackThursday on Instagram, by sharing an old picture of herself and the dad to be during happier X Factor UK times.
Simon has also met with RIP hitmaker Rita Ora and it’s been reported that the blonde beauty is on his shortlist too, along with former X Factor judge Dannii Minogue. The ladies are currently being considered as a ‘back up’ plan, should either other female option fall through.
The X Factor will return to our screens later this year and judges auditions are due to start in June.
The only judge 100% confirmed is Simon Cowell, though it’s said he’s already asked Louis Walsh to come back for his 11th series.
