Just a day after announcing her first solo tour, Sam Bailey has confirmed that she will be playing at Leicester Music Festival this summer.

It’s been a big week for the X Factor winner and as well as performing up and down the country with her X Factor co-stars, she also opened for Beyonce in Birmingham on Monday night.

The mum of two was sick with nerves before she performed but she’s going to have to get used to being on the big stage, as this July she’ll be on the lineup alongside Professor Green, Labrinth, Diversity, Union J and The Saturdays for the festival in her hometown.

It’s expected that 44,000 fans will attend the festival over Friday, July 25 and Saturday, July 26.

Meanwhile, Sam will most likely be back on the X Factor stage later this year, when the live shows kick off again on ITV1.

The show will be missing some familiar faces though, as her own mentor Sharon Osbourne has left the panel, as has Take That star Gary Barlow and Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger.

Simon Cowell has confirmed that he will be returning as a judge and it’s rumoured that he’s currently in talks with Cheryl Cole about making a comeback too.

The Girls Aloud star is said to be 99% convinced that she wants to sign up but Closer magazine reports this week that she’s suffering from sleepless nights as she tries to make up her mind.

One insider said:

“Cheryl’s suffering sleepless nights over whether to return. She feels under pressure because the next step for her is critical to her career comeback.

“She’s so stressed, she’s been waking up in the night.”

“Although she loved so much of the show, she hates remembering all the bickering with fellow judge Louis Walsh while her marriage to Ashley was breaking down. She knows Simon wants a decision as soon as possible but she’s torn.”

The X Factor judges’ auditions kick off in July of this year, so Cheryl has a bit of time before she needs to decide one way or another.

Simon has his hands full right now anyway and after the birth of his first son, Eric, we doubt that he has much time to be worrying about his shows.

The star spoke out to defend himself last night, after detractors criticised him for taking his baby to the beach.

Here we go again with poor old Cheryl under pressure, sleepless nights, divorce, malaria etc. and that’s just about signing a contract which she needs. I suppose her next demand will be that Louis is sacked. I would be happier seeing Nicole back but if not then a completely new panel with credible stars.

I would definitely make the effort to see Sam Bailey.
