X Factor News: Konnie Huq dropped from Xtra Factor
Thank the Lord! It’s official, Konnie Huq will NOT be presenting The Xtra Factor this year.
The rumour mill has been grinding for months, with supposed insiders saying that Simon Cowell hated the former Blue Peter presenter on the X Factor spin off as much as we did.
Well she is being allowed to save face and tonight it has been claimed that Huq will not be fronting the show in 2011 because it clashes with another job she has lined up…..funny how she didn’t mention that a few weeks ago.
The star’s manager said: “Konnie Huq will not be doing Xtra Factor this year. She is going to be doing a big TV show on Discovery for America and Asia, the dates for which also clashed with Xtra Factor.
Huq added: “I loved doing Xtra Factor. It was so exciting. But I also cannot wait to start filming my new show for Discovery in China.”
An ITV spokesperson stated: “We thank Konnie for her contribution to The Xtra Factor and wish her all the very best for the future.”
So who would you like to see fronting the show instead? Dancing On Ice stars Jeff Brazier and Laura Hamilton are both said to be keen to land the gig, as is F Factor host Matt Edmondson. And then again, we could be lucky and Holly Willoughby will come back…..

Konnie was painfully bad, I’m not in the least bit surprised she’s been dropped.
Laura hamilton would be brill for Xtra factor. Are you listening Mr. Cowell?! Give Laura the job!

The main reason she didn’t present last year was because of her pregnancy, but I am sure she could do it now if she wanted too.

And if my wish is not fulfilled, Matt Edmondson is my reserve choice, he is so funny on the F Factor, I could really imagine him making the Xtra Factor just as good. As long as we still got to see the F Factor midweek as well of course!!!
