Little Mix have confirmed that they have delayed the release of their new single.

The X Factor winners had previously revealed that they would be releasing their second single ‘Wings’ on July 22nd, which we have to admit seemed silly to us, considering the massive ITV show was launching just a few weeks later.

Well it seems that the girls’ management have realised this too and now the track won’t become available for download until August 19. Their debut album is expected to follow in September.

The new release date will allow Jesy Nelson, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall to make the most of the publicity surrounding the new X Factor series in August.

However, they will be the first X Factor winner in quite a few years to release their debut album, before they perform on one of the live shows in October.

It was confirmed earlier this year that X Factor judge Gary Barlow and Biff Stannard have penned songs for the album but the girls revealed recently that they had been involved in the song writing process as well.
