X Factor News: Simon Cowell and SYCO delay release of Little Mix’s debut album
The release date of Little Mix’s debut album has been pushed back.
The girlband landed a record deal with Simon Cowell’s SYCO record label, after winning The X Factor last December and it was later reported that they would be rush releasing their debut album in March 2012.
However, the ladies have now confirmed that the date has been pushed back, as the label want to put some extra effort into the record, most likely in the hopes that they can stop Little Mix flopping like the last few winners of the show.
Perrie Edwards told the Daily Star: “We’ve been getting involved in the writing so it’s taking a while to finish the album.
“We want to release it as soon as possible but not until we’re 100 per cent happy.”
She added:
“We don’t want to rush it and end up flopping.”
However, show runner up Marcus Collins is not of the same mind and will be going ahead, with the release of his debut single ‘Seven Nation Army’ in just a few weeks time. He is due to release his single on March 4th, and will follow it up with his self titled debut album on the 12th of the month.
The album features tracks penned by himself and former mentor Gary Barlow.

Just like to point out that as a platinum selling album – Matt Cardle’s album can hardly be called a flop, at least try and get your facts straight rather than follow the usual media line than desires to have the winner’s labelled as flops despite the facts.
I feel I must point out that as of January 2012, Matt’s album has sold 245,271 copies in the UK. To achieve Platinum status in the UK you need to sell over 1 Million units throughout Europe and the Middle East. I can say Matt is currently working on New Materiel and hopes to release it by the end of 2013.
And when will you be seen in public with Little Mix Simon?? The girls need your support. At this rate Marcus is being treated as the winner rather than Little Mix !
Why would it be important for me to be seen in public? Gary is looking after Marcus, very well I agree.

well, wasn’t little mix’s winner’s single the lowest selling since steve brookstein?
And why is that?? because it was a dire record picked for a winning solo singer. The group do it justice but it wasn’t penned for a group. If they had the lowest selling single, they still made no1 above Coldplay’s excellent single. So they didn’t do that bad. The army wives beat them, only due to a massive campaign & the whole country plugging the single & more importantly the charity that people want to raise money for. Standing alone without the cause & sob story behind them, without the naff Xmas single to go it would be lucky enough to reach number 10 let alone 1. Little Mix have it all, personalities & good voices. I cant understand why people want them to fail & are often so spiteful & cruel online to them.:(
When they say delay, I hope they mean to the Summer. They don’t need to get the whole album out before releasing singles. JLS do it all the time. They need one song that they can go to summer concerts and festivals with. Come on Simon, i thought you know how this works…
A platinum album is one that sells over 300,00 copies mate by however means. Cardle achieved this in Mid January, check wilkipedia for facts. Vocally imo he is the best male x factor winner by a complete mile. It is difficult for him when releasing singles as his genre of music is not selling as well at the moment, even coldplays singles are not selling like they used to. However things works in cycles and he has undoubted exceptional musical talent and if he writes or is wrote the right song them i’m sure he can have even greather chart success. Sticking four good looking young lads, who are average singers, and giving them simple cheesy songs with no difficult notes to hit seems to be the recipe thesedays. We live in a celebrity obsessed, fake tan, talent matters little world currently, hence the success of some of the neanderthals you frequently see in the media, Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton etc. I dont mind shows like the x factor cos at least some of the better contestants are being given a platform. Shows like Big Brother are deplorable.
A platinum album is one that sells over 300,00 copies In the UK Mr wikipedia! The RIAA certification and the IFPI certification Still maintain that 1,000 000 is Platinum. Don’t you think it is a bit of a laugh to call 300 000 Platinum? thats about 0.5% of the UK population
Mats New single is Fab and i am sure it will boost more units of his cd. Mat Cardle and Coldplay in the same breath… sounds about right!
