X Factor: Next Week Is Big Band Week

Holly Willoughby just revealed that the theme for next week’s X Factor live show will be Ray Quinn …..sorry I mean Big Band songs.

This is always a dodgy week in my opinion. Some acts do it very well, but those more modern and edgy singers often struggle with swing, big band type numbers.

    Eoghan Quigg should be in the mood to swing next Saturday as Louis Walsh has told an Irish newspaper that Eoghan is a certainty to reach the final. Will the young song thrush ever go back to school again?

    Big band week is such a stupid idea, they run it to show that artists are versitile, but Amy Wine House would sound awful doing big band week but this does not mean she is not a talented artist does it? The should stick to commercial music and let them do the their own interpritations as with big band songs you can not change the style of the song.

    I think its crap. Th show was so boring. And they should get rid of the themed weeks. Sitting through 11 michael jackson songs last week was bad enough. Have some variety in the programme or ill switch off for good.

    Did someone say Amy Winehouse would sound crap doing big band week? I think she´s one of the few artists that would do an amazing job of it. Doesn´t she say she got her inspiration from the likes of Benny Goodman and Count Basie etc. I think the problem is that people are not familiar with the music so they don´t know how to make the most of the category given to them. I missed the show so I don´t know how it went. I´m trying to find it online. Big band music is my favourite music and I´m only 25, I know other people enjoy it too. It´s a great idea.
