If you thought Olly Murs had a bit more get up and go during his performance on last week’s X Factor, you won’t be surprised to hear that he had a injection in his bum just before the show.

Olly had been unwell throughout the week and as well as administering nasal sprays, painkillers and other traditional methods of treatment, doctors also gave him a injection of antibiotics in the bum to speed his recovery.

The 26-year-old told The Mirror: “I’d been feeling under the weather all week and it was a bit of a concern for me leading up to Saturday night.

“I’ve had a nasty throat infection and some other stuff that comes with being a bit rundown.

“I went and saw the doctor midweek and I actually had an injection in my…my, bum-cheek! Can I say that!? To sort out my throat infection! I know it’s pretty weird, but apparently the antibiotics get into the bloodstream faster that way.”
