X Factor runner up Olly Murs has landed a record deal with his former mentor Simon Cowell.

The Sun reports that the Essex man has signed a join deal with Cowells Syco label and Epic Records.

Sonny Takhar, managing director of Syco, said: “We are thrilled to be involved with Olly – as an artist he ticks every box.”

Epic chief Nick Raphael added: “He is a big personality and we hope to make a big record on which we can showcase his obvious talents.”

Olly is currently starring in the UK wide X Facor tour and has reportedly already began work on his debut album.
