Former X Factor contestant Rachel Hylton says the other singers on the show often excluded her and made her feel isolated.

"Sometimes I just went off on my own because I was made to feel left out. You know, I always tried to be gracious and say nice things about everybody," she told ITV1’s This Morning.

"But what I wanted to say was, ‘What have I done wrong? Why are you lot treating me like this?’

"I could’ve used some support when I was at my lowest points in the show. They all support each other. They were all close to each other – but nobody had any time for me."

She added: "The bottom line is, I always got left out and I always got made to feel like an outsider."

    Rachael has a big, powerful, amazing, soul-stirring voice. Talk about a gift from God! It doesn’t really matter that she has been voted off. It doesn’t matter that the judges’ wrangling (when they should have been emphasising her fantastic performance) did her in, so to speak. I can imagine Simon’s sense of shame that he actually voted her off on the basis of her being in the sing-off three times, and not on her performance in that ultimate sing-off with JLS. He couldn’t have missed the similarities between Rachael and Billie Holiday. But all that doesn’t really matter and I do hope that Rachael remembers that and dwells instead on this bit from Psalm 62:

    For God alone my soul waits in silence,
    for my hope is from him.
    He alone is my rock and my salvation,
    my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
    On God rests my deliverance and my honor;
    my mighty rock, my refuge is in God.

    When will this girl stop feeling sorry for herself and blaming everyone else and take responsibility for the fact that she failed to give a good enough performance each week. The others out shone her each week and improved all the time and Rachel didn’t. Its as if she expects special treatment all the time.

    i’d just like to point out that Rachel wasn’t living in the X factor house with the other contestants so of course she isn’t going to be as close as the rest of them are. Sounds to me like an X factor media rep has told her to make mountains out of molehills to give her a bit of X factor publicity. My suggestion is that if her voice is that good then that should be enough to get her to where she wants to be. She’s had a bit of exposure now which is always good but if she keeps harping on about the show then she will never lose the X factor label. Unless you’re Leona Lewis that’s something that is quite hard to do if you want a long term career so she’d better start thinking about that now!
