X Factor: Rhydian Roberts

Birmingham resident Rhydian is this year’s X Factor wildcard. He’s charismatic, has a distinctive look (that’s putting it mildly) and can really belt out a tune!
Rhydian almost didn’t remain in the X Factor after he felt the producers of the show were editing the programme to make him look like an egomaniac. Although you might think otherwise, Rhydian claims never to have performed professionally. Anyway, here’s a bit more profile about the flamboyant Mr Roberts.
* Rhydian currently lives in Birmingham where he attends university, but was bought up in Powys, Wales where his family still live.
* Rhydian is a classical baritone singer and has had vocal training for the past seven years. He sings popular opera similar to Russell Watson and Il Divo, if he released an album he’s convinced the “whole of Wales would buy it”
Age: 24
From: Powys, Wales
Job: Student on Vocal Studies and a Personal Trainer

[...] Rhidian Roberts - Oh. My. God. This guy is extraordinary. Before we start on the performance - since when was Pink’s Get This Party Started a big band song? It sounded more like a Bond theme by the time they’d finished with it. The performance by Rhidian was disturbing, funny and brilliant at the same time. His sequined suit actually blended in with the scenery at times. Hilarious. Share and Enjoy: These icons link to social bookmarking sites where readers can share and discover new web pages. [...]

Courtesy of The X Factor and Real Radio, Wales’ very own superstar, Rhydian, could be making a triumphant return to Wales on Monday 10th December. If Rhydian is successful in getting through the semi-finals this Saturday, he will be coming back to Cardiff to say thank you for supporting for him in the contest.
This is your chance to show your support and wish him luck for the finals in person. In addition to this, there is the opportunity to see him perform live at a secret venue. The event will be hosted by Real Radio breakfast DJ Angela Jay.
For details of the event please tune into The Real Breakfast Show with Ricky Durkin and Angela Jay Friday morning.
