X Factor: Richard Peachy’s Panic Attack Nightmare!

We last saw Richard Peachy on X Factor 2005, when Louis sent him home from bootcamp telling him that he just wasn’t good enough to be one of the final twelve acts.

Richard didn’t take no for an answer though and is back this year, singing louder than ever!

Richard has spoken out and told how performing is his life, and the only way he knows to escape the panic and anxiety attacks he regularly experiences.

He said: “I suffer bad anxiety when I’m off stage, but when I’m on stage I don’t have that at all. It’s where I feel at home and I can relax. My problems started in school with panic attacks - I was in a hell of a mess and on anti-depressants.

“They couldn’t really put it down to anything, but I would start singing and wouldn’t have any of it. I’m off anti-depressants now.”

On last years bootcamp he said:

“I went out the night before with a couple of Irish boys and I was in a mess the next day trying to sing, so Louis kicked me out. It was a big deal to me at the time, but that’s in the past now.”

And what about Junction 4, the band he auditioned with this year, before going solo at Simon Cowells request?

He said: “We were put together and I hardly knew them so it was easy for me to leave. We had only been together a few weeks.”
