X Factor: Rock Week songs revealed!

Every week we bring you a list of songs that the X Factor acts will reportedly be singing on Saturday night. Keep checking back with us, as the list will be updated as information comes in.
This week’s X Factor theme is Rock week and guest appearances will include the mighty Bon Jovi and JLS.
Songs choices are revealed over the jump.
John and Edward Grimes: ‘We Will Rock You’ (The 5ive version, not the Queen one)
Lloyd Daniels: ‘I kissed a girl’ by Katy Perry….I wonder if he will sing the line ‘hope my boyfriend don’t mind it’…..
Lucie Jones: Guns’n’Roses’ Sweet Child O’Mine
Stacey Solomon: Somewhere Only We Know by Keane
Olly Murs: Come Together by The Beatles’
Rachel Adedeji- One (Adam Lambert version)
Joe McElderry – Dont Stop Believing (Journey)
Danyl Johnson: I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing – Aerosmith
Jamie Archer – Get Your Rocks Off – Primal Scream
As always, we’d love to hear your comments below.

The Grime Twins would not be able to do a Queen song it would be a insult.
OMG
xxxxxx
nervous for Lloyd’s song! i kissed a girl? really OMG nervous about that but i’m sure he’ll do great
John + Edward and Lloyd need to go out. Is I kissed A Girl even a rock song? I want Joe to win. Gorgeous all over <3
I kissed a girl by Katy Perry it’s not a rock song
wtf?
this week could be a disaster for all, even Jamie is playing it a bit safe!!!
Jon and Edward are singing 5ive’s version of the queen song.
Quite the gamble for Joe, as I am not sure Joe has the power to sing that Journey song like Steve Perry or Arnel Pineda.
Regarding the pop songs masquerading as rock songs:
- Careless Whisper (Seether cover) is very much a rock version, but nevertheless a curious choice.
- Like a Prayer … well I can imagine Jamie transforming that into a rock song.
- I Kissed a Girl … I have my doubts that Lloyd can do a convincing rock version based on his past performances and vocal ability.
- Somewhere Only We Know … might be rock if you replaced the piano with guitars and the tambourine with an actual drum set, otherwise it is borderline pop.
In my view, the most intriguing combination will be Lucie as Axel Rose — that is quite the juxtaposition.
where are the bon jovi songs??? they have a wide catalogue that could suit a few people. disappointed….
Surely, this is wrong. The week that Jamie could blow the others totally away, Simon gives him Like a Prayer??? Even Lucie gets a proper rock song, what is going on?
very interesting selection of songs…..are we starting to see a (producers) favourite pushed to the forefront with the best song and stage production this week.
seriously after such a big fuss last week over poor song choices and an apparent ‘emergency meeting’ i dont actually see that anything has improved…..except in maybe 1 or 2 cases.
OMG. Like a prayer? WTF. Seriously? I read it wrong the first time as “Livin’ on a prayer” and I was like YEAH Jamie has every chance now!” Then I was on a different site saying that he was given a madonna song. I looked back at the songs and I was literally shaken. Giving Jamie a Bon Jovi song would have been SO, SO much better. I don’t think any of the judges know what rock week is supposed to contain…
Shame you on again Simon. What are you trying to do destroy someone who has wholeheartedly trusted you from the start? Time you stopped playing your silly pompous games and give all your acts a proper performance. No matter what Jamie, go for it you will be great GO THE FRO !!!!
Once again the judges have chosen songs that bear little relation to the theme of the week. Just like the big band stuff last week, Simon has again picked a terrible choice for Jamie (if Like A Prayer is correct). Jamie has obviously got a lot riding on this week as it is, in effect, ‘his week’ so it will be interesting if he really can set the bar for the others.
Jamie a rocker?? singing a pop song by madonna? I have seen more rock n roll things lying at the bottom of garden ponds..and sweet child o mine and dont stop believing being ruined forever..I cant watch the programme tonight without being totally embarrassed.
oh like a prayer not livin on a prayer….. wdf 0.o thats weird… although i can imagine him singing the beginning of that song really well with his rock voice i hope he nails it
Im gonna hold my breath on my fav acts lol i wonder how Lucie would do with sweet child of mine surely Jamie should of got that one?
How is Lloyd going to pull that off?? Seriously!!! :S
THE X FACTOR IS A TOTAL FARCE!
Simon has made it clear to everyone that he wants Danyl(god I cannot stand the arrogant twat!) to win so he is deliberately trying to screw the others chances up of getting through. Jamie was given a rock song on big band week and on rock week (which we should’ve sailed through) he is given a pop song.
Last week 4 different acts did not perform a big band song (Ricky Martin, anyone???) yet Jamie is the only one who got slated for it despite it not being his decision.
It should be renamed the “Simon Cowell Show” as it is all about him increasing his already massive ego.
I hope someone gives Jamie a record deal when he gets voted off because of poor song choices.
Total FIX.
most of those sound good
i think stacey will be amazing at keane, as will Joe as always <3
very nervous about lloyd though?? i kissed a girl??
hmmm….. :/
Uh-Oh “I Kissed A Girl”????
PLEASE Cheryl, pick something more rock! It’s going to be another “Bleeding Love” all over again!
Jedward singing (debatable).. “We Will Rock You” just spells C.R.I.N.G.E
Jamie should be setting the bar this week as Rock Week is made for him, really, but “Like A Prayer” is NOT. “Livin’ on a prayer” would be perfect… hopefully this was just lost in translation or something, otherwise he may be disappointing tonight!
However.. Lucie, Stacey and Olly’s song choices all seem promising. I think Dannii’s the only one who can get song choices right at the moment!!
Lucie better not ruin Guns N Roses’ classic song.
Looking forward to hearing Olly singing come together!! The Beatles are amazing and I love Olly!! Great combination!!
We love Olly!!
OLLY TO WIN!!
Stacey is hilarious. We lovee her
John and Edward… so silly
We love Joe.. he is soo cute
Lloyd is soo hot! <3 xx
Jamie monstered Primal Scream’s Get Your Rocks Off.
That’s all I watched: can’t stand a show that abides adult males who exhibit their crotches, clothed or not, to teen and pre-teen girls. Call me old-fashioned…
The twins lewd behaviour and Louis’ constant anti-Jamie mind games have turned me off the show. Jamie’s the exception because it’s already written that he can’t win, and that he’ll have a career like the one American Idol “loser” Chris Daughtry is carving himself out with his talent and his courage. Just like Daughtry on Idol, Jamie will be this X-Factor season’s real winner.
Wow Joe McElderry’s performance of Don’t Stop Believin’ was great. I listened to the original track on Spotify and it sounded weak compared to what Joe did. Well done Joe!
~ Joe to the end! ~
I want to see Jamie do another slow one like hurt i thought he was really good when he did that, i wish Simon would stop giving him cheesy rock/pop, he would of been great doing a guns n roses number or something like that, i hope he stays in the competition
his voice is better than the songs hes getting
@Lucie: I don’t think you were listening to the original Don’t Stop Believin’ because Joe’s version was nowhere near as good as Journey’s performances.
Good luck to Joe and I think he will go far, but no need to exaggerate about the performance
