A security guard working at London’s Corinthia hotel has reportedly been arrested, after it was claimed that he manhandled and verbally abused some young X Factor fans.

The staff member was in place to ward off the hoardes of teenage supporters, there to catch a glimpse of X Factor acts such as Union J and District 3, but as they started to swarm the hotel in a bid to touch their idols, it was claimed that the bodyguard used excessive force to keep them at bay.

A group of crafty onlookers sneaked around the back of the establishment, as they realised that contestants such as Jade Ellis and Jahmene Douglas were being sneaked in through a loading bay.

The security team were overwhelmed as the fans rushed towards the venue, trying to gain access and spend time with the stars. It is reported that things got out of hand at this point and one of the staff directed a string of expletives at the crowd, reportedly yelling you ‘f*****g c***s’ before pulling some of them away from the door.

An X factor official admitted that one of the bodyguards was arrested but claimed that he was later sent home with a caution. They told The Daily Mail:

‘A member of the team was arrested but no charges were brought and he was let off with a caution.’

‘Young fans were present but it was a photographer who called the police and complained about abusive language, not one of the fans.’

However, waiting photographer Greg Brennan told a different story and insisted that the behaviour of the staff member was not ideal, particularly as there were young girls involved.

He gave a statement to police about the incident and later told the newspaper:

‘I don’t know exactly how it started but the security guard was swearing at the young girls who were trying to see the X Factor stars.’

‘I complained to the police as did a mother of one of the young girls who had been sworn at. After seeing Jade into the hotel he turned on his heels and ran at one of the children, swearing at her. You can’t speak to children like that. I spoke to the hotel manager and he agreed with me that it was completely out of line.’
