X Factor 2016: Is this the REAL reason Sharon Osbourne forgot Saara Aalto’s name? VIDEO

by Lynn Rowlands

The weekend’s editions of The X Factor were, as ever, controversial, what with Honey G staying in the contest while Freddy Parker left, and with Sharon Osbourne appearing to be JUI (judging under the influence) yet again.

However, while the Honey G drama rages on, the fabulous Mrs O has appeared on Good Morning Britain to put an end to speculation that she was drunk or otherwise ‘affected’ by substances other than good old builder’s tea…

The accusations that Sharon may not have been entirely sober began on Saturday night, when she and fellow judge Nicole Scherzinger seemed – as they did the weekend before – to be in high spirits. Of the Gin or Vodka kind.

And that speculation became positively rife during last night’s results show when Sharon yet again forgot the name of her Overs category singer, Saara Aalto.

That came about when, having landed in the bottom two with the aforementioned Freddy, Sharon had to introduce her act…

Clearly a tad flustered, Sharon spluttered, “OK everybody. Now it’s the songbird from… abroad…”

Last weekend, not only did Sharon repeatedly call Saara ‘Zara’, she also forgot where she was from, again repeatedly.

But last night, it was up to Sharon’s pal Louis Walsh to tell her that Saara was the name she was desperately groping for.

So, as mentioned above, Sharon appeared on GMB today to clear up the debacle, and having denied that she was drunk, she said, “Look, I was thinking about something else. I wish I could come up with a better excuse…

“I’m just dotty!”

But on a serious note, Sharon added, “Listen, I’ve seen too many careers destroyed, family members destroyed from alcohol…

“This Mrs ain’t going there.”

She concluded by stating, “Do you know what it is? I’m terrible with names.”

Well, I truly hope that is all it is, but I must confess, I’ve been worried about Mrs O over the last couple of weeks…

She’s also been bonkers and crazy during X Factor live shows – which is what makes her such great fun – but there have been times when she has seemed genuinely at a loss when trying to access a memory.

And frankly, that’s a bit scary.

But what do you think?

Is there cause for concern, or has Sharon simply caught on the hop a few times during the live shows?

A bit scary? Why? Because someone is getting older, and the memory isn’t quite what it used to be? Don’t worry, it catches us all, in the end, even you… nothing to be scared of, it’s just life… doesn’t mean you can’t still laugh and have fun… or be useful, still…
