It has been no secret that since her controversial sacking from the US version of the X Factor, Cheryl Cole has avoided all contact with ex boss, Simon Cowell, and effectively ended their friendship, but could that be about to change?

According to The Sun, the Girls Aloud singer is finally ready to meet with the X Factor legend in order to re-kindle their friendship, and perhaps discuss future business ventures.

“It had been pretty frosty for a while but Cheryl has mellowed and they’ve turned a corner,” a source told the paper.

“Simon has always wanted to remain friends with her but it’s understandable how she needed time to calm down. Now they’re on talking terms and banter is in full swing, they’re discussing a meet, which is likely to be in LA.”

Rumours this week have already been rife about a possible return to the X Factor for the Geordie beauty, which were magnified when she was spotted out and about wearing a pair of jeans that seemed to sport the famous X Factor symbol, but the star was quick to take to Social Networking Site, Twitter, to deny and defend saying: “Promise I am not trying to send out subliminal msgs (sic) to anybody through my jeans. They just looked cool to me. But since you mention it…”
