X Factor: Simon Cowell feels trapped by fame

X Factor boss Simon Cowell has admitted that he feels trapped by his fame and suffers from dark moods as a result of all the pressure.
Simon may have just finished on ITV’s X Factor last night, but in a few weeks time he starts American Idol, shortly followed by Britain’s Got Talent, then straight into X Factor again.
Simon told BBC’s Newsnight:
“I get to a point where I get overloaded, where you can have a week or a month where you’re responsible for so many things. You have to deal with so many people.
“This can go on from leaving the office until five or six in the morning.
“You just have enough and it’s just too much information and at that point I will go on my own somewhere and work it out in my head.
“Sometimes you feel it’s like a tidal wave of stuff that continues to come.”
When asked if he felt trapped by his fame and responsibility for other people’s careers he said:
“Yeah, you do feel trapped. You don’t want to let anybody down.
“You have a responsibility to the people who work with you that the decisions you make have got to be good decisions.
“It can get too much and then they’ll realise I’m making bad decisions, so I have to sort my head out.
“Sometimes you’re happy, sometimes you get a bit down, and when I’m down I like to be quiet and then I work things out in my head again.”
