X Factor: Simon Cowell issues challenge to Sting!

X Factor judge Simon Cowell has thrown down the gauntlet to rock singer Sting after he criticised the show earlier this week.
In an interview with the London Evening Standard Sting claimed that the show is “a soap opera which has nothing to do with music”.
He added: “I am sorry but none of those kids are going to go anywhere, and I say that sadly.”
However on tonight’s show Simon refuted these claims and held up Alexandra Burke, Leona Lewis and Susan Boyle as examples of how TV talent shows can produce real stars.
He finished his rant by issuing a challenge to the Fields Of Gold singer, telling him that if he thinks the contestants are struggling, he should come onto the show and pass on some of his sage career advice to them in person.
Do you think Sting will rise to the bait? Leave your comments below.

If I was Sting I’d take him up on the offer.. under the conditions that the contestants turn up next week to perform their own songs, written and composed by themselves! not cheesy karaoke efforts of other well known songs. I had the show on by chance, saw Cowell’s challenge, then once the “singing” had started, and the first Queen song was being destroyed I immediately switched over.
BTW.. I think Sting the wrestler should show up, he’s as relevant to the show as Sting the singer.
totally agree nick and good point i didnt think about that, not to mention the fact that sting was in one of the biggest rock bands ever and has wrote i dont know is like 20 albums produced them written the music and the lyrics. im not saying they are all untalented peopleo on xfactor because i like the programme i find it pretty entertaining but as bonified artists come on get a grip they are karaoke singers on tv.
