Simon Cowell is reportedly planning to marry fiancée Mezhgan Hussainy in Venice later this year.

Last week the X Factor judge admitted for the first time he proposed to his 36 year old girlfriend on Valentines day and today a source told BettyConfidential that he is planning to tie the knot this summer.

They said: ‘It is a perfect time of year for Simon to be able to enjoy his wedding, honeymoon and time off as a newlywed before he starts devoting his schedule to The X Factor.’

The couple are thought to have considered hosting the ceremony in Rome like Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes but eventually decided on Venice.

The source added: ‘It’s perfect. It’s romantic and historical.’

We can just see them closing off the whole city of Venice, before taking to the smelly canals in a gondola.
