X Factor: So Simon Cowell must LOVE John and Edward Grimes
Simon Cowell has blasted John and Edward Grimes since they first appeared on The X Factor. He appeared irritated and irked by them each time they sang, yet tonight he saved their necks and sent Lucie Jones home.
Last week Unreality TV reported that Simon Cowell had hand picked John and Edward Grimes for the final twelve from the moment he saw their first audition and the theory seems plausible after tonight’s result.
So is Simon Cowell the most hypocritical man on the planet? Because he must know that Jedward can’t sing and he has to be aware that no one will buy their albums, yet he allows them to take the place of truly talented singers week after week. Tonight Simon insisted that he would make his decision on who to keep, based on who sang best in the sing off. I think you’ll all have to admit that there was a clear winner – she was the one singing in tune in case you missed it – yet she’s now gone.
It seems as though Mr Cowell would prefer The X Factor to be front page news than to find an actually talented singer. At least now we know eh?

I totally agree with you. I will certainly not be watching this show anymore as it is clear a main ‘judhge’ cannot do his job and has cynically opted for news headlines. I am so disappointed in the show now that Simon has done this. As Dani said ‘This is a singing show’ and it was clear who could sing beautifully, or at all (!), and who could not, despite Simon saying that he would base his decision on ‘who sang the best’.
I am disgusted with Simon Cowell’s decision to get rid of Lucie Jones ,he is such a hypocrite, all along he has slated those two freaks John & Edward, he had his chance last night to get rid of them, but he stooped to the lowest, the reason being he knew that Lucie could win the competition, so he got rid of the opposition to Olly, I wont ever watch the X Factor again, I hope the two freaks knock Olly out of the competition.

Hi Henry, is that your real name, well can you really say that John and Edward have talent, I dont think so , Now I hope they win the X Factor, I will enjoy watching Mr. Cowell’s giving them a record contract and making them stars.It will sure be a struggle for Simon.
I agree, it is not the boys fault that the public are keeping them in, bullying them by calling them freaks is out of order. These people really need to get off their high horses.

You must admit that “freaks” sounds a lot better than, “useless pair of over rated tossers, who can’t sing, can’t dance, and have all the charisma of a house brick.” This is supposed to be a show, to showcase peoples singing ability. Not a childrens play area…
It really annoys me to think that somewhere, there is someone who was denied a place in this show, because these two “wasters” were put through.
Hi Rosaleen, You guessed correctly. Henry Gibson is not my real name. John and Edward are not good singers. But I do not think that they deserve the hate mail that they have received. I was so disgusted that I posted a supporting comment on a John and Edward ‘Hate website’. I then received hate mail addressed to my pseudonym ‘Henry Gibson’. I probably overreacted with my comments directed at you. Please accept my apologies. I get annoyed when I see kids attacked for having fun.

I did not mean to be offensive to the Grimes Twins, I was just so angry with Simon for getting rid of Lucie, she has such talent, and to see her knocked out and the twins still in I over reacted , Simon said all along, the twins had no talent, he had his chance to get rid of them on Sunday night, instead he got rid of his boys biggest rival, he owns the show so he will get his winner anyway.

Permit me to introduce another prespective here from Portugal. I´m portuguese and every saturday i wait for the videos on the youtube xfactor link, i´m a music fan in every way. Last sunday i saw something “horrific”, the beauty was smashed by the beast, and i mean Simon as the beast. Dear Lucy do not give up, you are really wonderful. 1st, It´s not J & E fault, they just do their act, kind of clown-ish act, but that´s the way it is. First question, are all voting Britain´s deaf? guess not, or are the phoners just making their kids will…..Mum Mum…vote for J & E… they are really cool, maybe it´s like someone said: voting is fixed!! I used to give Simon a great credit on his opinions, but now i look at him with an empty feeling, i just thought, wtf is wrong with this guy, deadlock??!!! this guy always complained about J & E lack of tune, kind of …this guys are a joke etc etc. As i remember, he called their acts (all of them) “Horrific”!!?? right? and he, like we all, also listen Louie saying in the show: “now every kid out there wants to be J & E”. So, bottom Line, Simon knew Lucy was out on a public vote, on the other hand he should protect his boys, and the better way to do it, was eliminating the excellent opponents and let the freak ones on. Never seen such a disgusting and evil attitude, yes, this is just a show, but it´s also peoples lifes and future, otherwise they wouldn´t cry like they do, when they´re out. Simon just blow up the all point of the show, entertainment should be in “Britain´s got talent” this is a singing show for xfactored people, 1st place you must sing in tune, This kids maybe have the R(idiculous)factor or the K(ids)factor, they surely have no Xfactor, any producer can put up a show for twin bad singers like them. If simon wants to give J & E a carreer i can recommend some circus,they can sing with the elefants or the horses it would go nice, singing: “Who you gonna call??……Beastbusterrrr”!!!this is nothing personal. SIMON it was a really really bad move from you, Lucy is way better then your screaming “protege” Danyl, your boys should loose for J & E in a deadlock, but that wouldn´t also be fair, right?!!.Always Remember, public are the one that keeps your show on the air, if they turn off the TV, your show becomes useless, just like your performance at this moment as a jury member.

Before I begin, I’m not a twins supporter. But having said that, I don’t understand why people are blaming Simon only for Lucie leaving. He has been back-peddling about the boys, especially last week. He has not been a 100% fan of Lucie’s, so it’s not like he loves her all this time then suddenly wham! And if all the rumors are true, the twins have been getting a lot of hate mail, and there’ve been many times that Simon has shown a kinder side. He could just be toning it down for two 18-year-olds. Lastly, even a blind man could see that a lot of the British public like the twins. I could understand Simon leaving it to them to choose. So, talented as she obviously was, Lucie was not as popular with the public as the twins were. So choose the right target folks. It’s not Simon’s fault Lucie is out. Aim your issues and hate toward the British voters!
I think the decision to go to a public vote and send Lucy home stinks!! Up until now I have always thought Simon Cowell was true to his word and I respected his opinion. I no longer feel that way. He recently stated that if Jedward won the competition he would emigrate and yet he wasted the chance to get rid and they could now potentially go on to win because of Mr Cowell!! I think he should remember what he keeps preaching week after week, that it is a SINGING COMPETITION. Jedward are obviously more financially lucrative to him than he first thought……
Again. All due respect to your point of view it is a show which does require a draw for people to keep watching. And simon is a smart businessman. Look at it this way. If simon didn’t have the idea for this show and didn’t put all his resources together to get it on TV chances are none of us would have ever heard of lucie or olly or leona et al. I still point out that when you take simons vote out of the way the british public voted lucie off — as sad as it is.
Sorry, I thought the Xfactor was about er the Xfactor & talent, how the hell simon cowell has gotten away with such bad decisions, i thought the man was supposed to have talent at spotting potential. Surely he must have realised that the whole of Ireland was voting, wrongly, for er irish Louis & er irish Jedward & that the real discerning voting public, including myself, assumed that she would be safe. This is a tv show, tv is about entertainment & sorry to all you self righteous Lucie fans (who probably didn’t even vote for her) but she is not very entertaining. John & Edward have The X Factor, something that sets them apart from the crowd. You guys act like the twins are undeserving of a place on the show, the premise of the show is that the public vote for who they want to see, if they decide to vote for John & Edward then that is all there is to it. I tune in each week just to see what john and edward are going to do..none of the acts this year are going to near as good as leona or alexandra anyways.
Jedward can become the young ant and dec with olly and stacey having the most potential singing wise!!
