Plans have been scrapped to move the live X Factor shows to a larger studios, it has been reported.

Last week it was reported that the show was moving from Fountain Studios in Wembley to London’s Excel Centre. The move was said to be fuelled by the large live audiences at the audition stage of the show.

However, an insider has now told The Mirror: “It was a real possibility for a while but as it is not designed as a TV studio it would have cost too much to bring in all the equipment like broadcasting systems and sound stages.”
