The Sugababes are the latest celebrities to show their support for long-haired X Factor favourite Ben Mills.

But singers Keisha Buchanan and Heidi Range also warned that the reality show didn’t offer long-term success.

“I like Ben. If I had to pick one, he’s my favourite at the moment,” said Heidi, 23.

Keisha, 22, added: “Ben reminds me of Bo Bice from American Idol, he’s the UK version. Bo Bice was amazing.

“But you don’t really get good pop stars out of it. What happened to Shayne Ward? He’s on tour? Really? Bless him.

“The only reality TV show people I like are Lemar and Will Young. You don’t even think of them being from a show any more anyway.”

The chart-topping girl band, who have had four No 1 hits, also said last week’s losers The Unconventionals should have stuck with singing a capella.

“But then you can’t do that all the time, can you? Who’s going to buy an album full of a capellas?” said Keisha.

Heidi added the public vote would be swayed by who had done well on the night.

“You might think someone’s amazing then they do a really bad performance and it turns you right off.”
