X Factor to miss out to Strictly Come Dancing at National Television Awards 2013 for the 1st time in 5 years!
The X Factor could suffer another loss this evening, this time at the National Television Awards.
The ITV series shed viewers during it’s most recent run, dropping behind Strictly Come Dancing most weekends for it’s main Saturday night show.
Bookies now think that fall in viewer numbers will be reflected at tonight’s glitzy awards ceremony and predict that the singing competition will lose out on a trophy for the first time in five years.
The reality TV show has been a big hit with the voting public ever since it first aired in 2004 and it has picked up a gong every year since, except in 2008 when it lost the Most Popular Talent Show award to BBC’s Strictly.
Bookmakers think the dance show will triumph over it’s rival again tonight and Ladbrokes are offering odds of 6/4 that Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Darcey Bussell will win over Gary Barlow, Nicole Scherzinger, Tulisa and Louis Walsh.
ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent may enjoy a more successful night, and odds for their win are quoted as 9/4, while it looks like Dancing on Ice and The Voice UK are unlikely to take the gong with odds of 7/1 and 8/1 respectively.
Betting analyst Jessica Bridges told The Mirror: “It appears that the X Factor revolt is set to continue.”
