Gene Simmons is quite the supportive father.

The Kiss rocker and reality TV star spent this weekend at the X Factor auditions in San Francisco, as his nineteen year old daughter Sophie showed up to tryout for Simon Cowell, Britney Spears, Demi Lovato and L.A Reid.

The brunette beauty was insistent that she take her shot at fame on the hit Fox talent show and according to TMZ, phoned her dad to tell her why she wouldn’t be home for Father’s Day, breaking the news about her audition.

So desperate was he to see her shine, that Gene hot tailed it straight down to the audition venue and spent the day hanging around, until her time to take to the stage came.

There has been no word yet on whether she got through to the next round.

Simon took to Twitter to reveal that the standard was high on the day though and the music mogul wrote:
