X Factor: Was Rhydian Roberts Set Up?

X Factor - Rydian RobertsAn old singing teacher of X Factor finalist Rhydian Roberts has spoken out today about the apparent sabotage of Rhydian Roberts reputation by X Factor producers.

“Rhydian told me they sent him an email telling him to arrive between 11am and 12pm – and sent everyone else one that said to arrive at 10am,” Michael Barry told The Mirror. “Then they show him being told off for arriving late. It’s a nasty way to treat a talented young man.”

Rhydian has also claimed this week that he feels his footage and time to camera was badly edited to make him seem like a pantomime villain, when in fact he’s just a big softy (?).

So did the X Factor producers warn the judges tonight to be nice to Rhyd? He didn’t receive one bad comment and even Sharon was nice to him. Simon told him that he had delivered the best performance of the night……. was it all a fix to try and make good with the boy they had set up?

This has got to be the most staged X factor so far. There’s a lot of twisted psychological game play going on and the same build ‘em up, knock ‘em down game is equally being played on Judges (albeit scripted). I do get the feeling that they’ll play with Rhydian and twist the mental knife later on.This sort of baiting is not restricted to this reality show though.

  3. Kate Collins says:

The strange way that Simon spoke to Rhydian after his final performance was almost an indication that he knew that he had lost.

  4. Geoff says:

Surely it would be better to have impartial independent judges on the final result, rather than depend on the present judges whose involvement makes it impossible to be impartial, and the Nationalistic whims of the public. In our view Rhydian was the greatest and has also proved himself a GENTLEMAN.

  5. Val Bowles says:

I was very disapointed that Rydian did not win the Xfactor especialy due to the fact that when I phoned in to vote for him I could not get through. He is a great contestent and I wish him all the luck in the world I know he will be a great success,
