I thought Dionne was Ok , but not different . The unconventials were the best of the bunch. Thats what makes stars , not the same thing over and over again.Slightly altered, but not straying from convention.

Me sick to the back teeth ( now removed due to age) of the same old genres.

The mere thought of the same types of people but with slightly different faces fills me with ennui.

Only in the future will we realise that each year we pick the same people and there is very little variation in looks, presentation and performance.

Its like living in 1950’s america before rock n roll, very drab and no substance.

Dawn: Ennui is such a good word for it! I like to think of the whole thing as an endless conveyor belt, delivering pre-packaged humdrum artists. When an act like the Unconventionals comes along, they really deserve a chance.

Hopefully some of the other acts will start to show character in the coming weeks.

I think Simon now has a death wish for the X FACTOR, He’s let all the acts down and the viewers too with his idiotic themed weeks plan, HE keeps telling the acts to be original then lumbers them with songs which have been done evey which way anyway. He has NO respect for the viewers and at the auditions this year he was way too smug, It may be his show, it certainly isnt the acts show, BUT HE HAS GOT TOO BIG FOR IT.A T LEAST HE HAS THIS amateur TALENT SHOW NOW SHOWCASING PROFESSIONAL SINGERS GETTINT TO PLUG THEIR NEW SINGLE OR ALBUM TRACK.TOTALLY REDICULOUS.Rod, Newcastle.

yeah of course he was right they are useless and borin plus i think da group is 2 big i mean lyk 12 honestly ! omg!!

The unconventionals didn’t really get the chance they deserved. So when they went in the first week it was wrong of Simon to select them to go.

Simon instead should have been honest and realistic to realise that here was a large group capeable of giving a sound similar to MANHATTAN TRANSFER OR THE LIGHTHOUSE FAMILY. I’m pleased this group without Simon’s help are now progressing forward with a musical career.

There must be many times in Simons’ life when he has lost out on the chance of making a fortune. Instead all his eggs OR bets are on LEONA and of course RAY Who simply have to succeed to give credibility to the continuance of this show in 2007 and of course for the careers of these two who have had all the media hype there young personalities can take.

BTW Rod I do not have any objection to the ageing stars of the past giving there advice to the up and coming even if many of them will have been unheard of by today’s musically untrained youth, but I have to agree with you the show should not have been used to advertised there latest releases. It has a very unkind ring to it when most of the X factor finalists will not be releasing a disc or indeed signing a contract in the first place.
