Simon Cowell has reportedly reached a deal with ITV, that will allow the X Factor to return to our screens in 2010.

Simon had asked the channel to add £3 million to the show budget as he wanted to bring it back, bigger and better than ever.

A source told The Mail: “There was a worrying moment when it looked like we would not have the X Factor back next year, but it’s being sorted.

“The issue was whether Cowell would want to appear on the US version, and it looks like he does, so we will have to work out a time when it does not clash with the UK show.” The insider added: “I don’t think the X Factor will now launch in the US until 2011.”

I don’t know why people are surprised by this move. ITV opened applications to audition for the show last week, they wouldn’t have done that if they’d thought the show was done now would they?
