X Factor: Will Robbie Williams “replace” Simon Cowell on X Factor?
The Daily Star reports that X Factor bosses are hoping that Robbie Williams may join the show’s judging panel by way of replacement for Simon Cowell this year.
As you’re probably aware, despite having previously stated that he intends to carry out his obligations to the show this year, Simon is also launching The X Factor in the States…
That being the case, the paper states that the show’s execs are looking for a “top dog” figurehead for the show, and that they’re very keen to secure Robbie for the job.
A show insider told the paper, “Robbie is a huge name so would naturally be a massive ratings hit.
“Not only that, he is also straight-talking and comical…
“We all understand that right now America is where Simon’s focus has to be.
“There aren’t many people that can fill his shoes, but Robbie just might be able to do it.”
The paper adds that Robbie’s Take That bandmate Gary Barlow is also being considered for a role on the judging panel.

Seriously…Robbie Williams can’t get his own life in order how’s hemeant to kick start someone elses…
Hmmm not a good choice. I would like to see Russell
Watson Great Singer ..plus hes funny too, or Gary Barlow or Shayne Ward… All three know the business and have proved they can sing..
I don’t believe Robbie Williams is the right person. He obviously tries to cope with his own issues about music, his life and he should be given as much support as possible with this.
Re-garding who should judge and mentor choosing someone like Gary Barlow, may be a safe option. He is an experienced songwriter, is in top selling “man band” and we have observed him develop into the musician he is, since his days of being in a “boy band”.
Also his experiences prior to being in the boy band are still valuable today.
The other option would be to have seperate mentoring services provided by those involved in music education and the regional arts bodies. These people are really qualified to guide regional artists, students of the arts
and many are professional performers themselves. Despite not being Nationally known they are better than known commercial artists.
Ask yourself what types of individuals do the real work in music studios throughout Britain and you will realise that none of them are household names. They are the real professionals.
Okay…im not british, i dont live in the UK, so i dont know of Robbie Williams’ woes…hence i got a bit excited at the prospects of him being a judge…untill i read the above comments.
oh well….
Love His musoc though, love Take that.
As a huge Robbie fan I agree he would be a terible choice as a mentor he would be great as a guest judge in early rounds. But Really Ann – Shayne Ward please tell me that was a joke! you say he knows the business he hardly in the same league as Robbie or Gary Barlow come to that! Just because he is a past winner that does not mean he knows the business.
Am so excited by this I love robbie and actually think he would do a good job! He is a very talented man with great experience of the music industry.
