This Saturdays debut of the X Factor 2005 wiped the floor with rival channels in the ratings war. It managed to attract 6.6 million viewers which was 40% of the available viewing public, not too far behind last weeks Big Brother finale which attracted 43.4%. It would certainly seem that Reality TV fatigue has not yet set in!

ITV boss Claudia Rosencrantz said: “The X-Factor has returned stronger than ever with a great mix of talent and some real characters to watch along the way and we are sure the X-Factor will find another top singing sensation.â€? I don’t know would you call Steve Brookstein a singing sensation???
