X Factor’s Cher Lloyd will release ‘Swagger Jagger’ this September
SYCO have reportedly set the date for the release of Cher Lloyd’s first single.
The 17 year old shot to fame on last year’s series of the hit ITV show and it is believed that bosses on Simon Cowell’s record label, want her to benefit from the launch of the new series this August, when she starts promoting her debut effort.
The single will reportedly be titled ‘Swagger Jagger’ and Cher recently auditioned dancers for the accompanying music video. It has been reported that the song will be released on September 12th 2011.
Describing the vibe of Lloyd’s new record, Wonderland magazine said:
“She calls her sound ‘swag pop’, but that doesn’t even come close to describing the furious energy of what she’s been working on. Yes, she’s still rapping – faster and more aggressively – and she’s fed in a lot of urban influences: some tracks have a southern stride, some take cues from UK hip-hop – one even has a huge, squelchy dubstep bassline.
“But it’s all got kind of ingenious, princessy pop edge – think of soaring chorus, petulant spoken asides and single refrains that hark back to the rhythm and melodies of nursery rhymes.”
We can’t wait to hear it!
