Cheryl Cole has reportedly taken the next step in her row with MC Harvey and launched legal action against the rapper and Now magazine.

The move came after the publication refused to back down over an interview they printed, in which the So Solid Crew star claimed he had an affair with the former X Factor judge back in 2010.

He insisted that just after she split from her cheating husband Ashley Cole and when she was supposedly seeing American dancer Derek Hough, the Girls Aloud beauty was actually conducting a romance with him.

However, Cole denies all the allegations and even took to Twitter to try to sort the mess out.

When that didn’t work, it is claimed that Cheryl went down the legal route and today it has been reported that the 28-year-old launched legal proceedings against both the magazine and Alesha Dixon’s ex.

Cole’s spokesperson said

‘Cheryl Cole has today commenced legal proceedings in London against the publishers of Now magazine as a result of its two articles about her alleged “secret romance” with Michael Harvey.

‘Cheryl’s lawyers have asked to see Mr Harvey’s alleged e-mails which the magazine says are “proof” of the “romance” but it claims not to have them in its possession.

‘Mr Harvey’s claims are denied by Cheryl and she looks forward to seeing both him and the magazine in court at the very earliest opportunity.’

Now are still insisting that the story is true and have released a number of statements, along with confirmation from their legal expert that emails supposedly exchanged between Cheryl and Harvey are authentic.

However, they may have a hard time proving it, considering the fact that MC Harvey backtracked during a live radio interview this week and admitted that while he may have been in contact with Cole, he never actually dated her.
