X Factor’s Craig Colton and Marcus Collins to perform at the 2012 Speke Hall Concerts in Liverpool

Scouse singers Craig Colton and Marcus Collins will meet once more, after they were both announced as performers at the 2012 Speke Hall Concerts in Liverpool.

The X Factor stars will both take to the stage for the event which will take place in their hometown on June 2 and will be joined on the bill by rock legends Status Quo and opera singer Russell Watson.

The pair were two of the most popular contestants from the 2011 series of the ITV show and both see this as a bit of a homecoming gig and concert organisers Cuffe and Taylor said:

“We are excited to be bringing Marcus and Craig back to Liverpool to headline at Speke Hall Concerts 2012. Liverpool really got behind them during the X Factor and their genuine friendship made them stand-out from other contestants. Both have very unique and powerful voices and we’re looking forward to hearing them put their own spin on some classic hits this Summer. We want the people of Liverpool to come out and show their support for two local stars, who are sure to light up the music charts in the future.”

Tickets for the gig went on sale this morning and can be purchased here.

Marcus is currently working very closely with his former X Factor mentor Gary Barlow on the release of his debut single and album next month. The 24 year old will release his first single ‘Seven Nation Army’ on March 4th, with his self titled album following a week later on March 12th.

He recently admitted:

Gary Barlow has been helping me produce my album, he’s been very involved in the song choice and helping me find my sound and working on perfecting it.

Craig and Marcus are both preparing for the X Factor tour which kicks off later this month, however Colton is also planning a new album and recently hinted that it will have an unexpected ‘indie’ sound. He revealed:

It’s very indie and it’s very acoustic and it’s got a nice little hint of jazz.
