X factor’s John and Edward Grimes: ‘We get so much hate mail!’
X Factor twins John and Edward Grimes, have admitted that they have been upset by the staggering amount of hate mail which they have received in recent weeks.
The pair told The Sunday Mirror: “We get hate mail and vicious letters. Some of the hate mail is so bad X Factor haven’t let us see it.
“It’s hard when we have to go out and perform and be happy and confident and smiley because we know if we slip up they’ll come after us.”
John added: “I haven’t been sleeping for the last two or three nights.”
“Websites say, ‘John and Edward are s***’. I get so upset by it I can’t sleep. It goes round and round in my head.”
John continued: “We were in the street walking to our dance class when a whole family came past in a black car and shouted out, We hate you. You’re w******’.
“All we want is for people to love us. It hurts us and our family.”

I don’t like John & Edward and don’t think they should still be in the competition, I also think they are quite cocky. However, its out of order to send hate mail, viscious letters or make nasty comments about them or any act. People will like them or dislike them because of their singing or attitude and comments on that is too be expected but when it goes further to being nasty or threatening then that is going to far.
Its soo nasty,they havent done a single thing wrong the judges put them there and thats that! They seem like such nice boys and people are being too harsh on them. People need to remember its down to our vote who stays and goes!
I dont see why so many people hate John and Edward they seem so nice and I love watching them

How would you feel if it was you. You think it is ok to give death threats because you do not think they should be in a competition.
I do not understand how people can be so nasty to them it is not there fault that they were picked in the first place. It was sad seeing the boys fighting hard to hold back the tears when the verdict was announced and the crowd started booing. People take this programme way two serious there is no justification for the death threats and other forms of hatred that these boys have to deal with.
I look forward every Saturday night to seeing John and Edward and feel that the booing should be stopped in the studio as this escalates into the outside world.
They are an entertaining and creative pair and add excitement for family viewing as singing alone can get rather dull for young children.(And some of us oldies!)
Unfortunately the media has a lot of power and has once more abused it in their scramble to make money at the expense of the person. The abusive letters should go straight to the Police.
Pick yourselves up John and Edward, enjoy what you are doing with integrity – and remember you are loved by so many.

I must admit I thought they were cocky at the begining but have never hated them. I think it’s sad that people can hate a couple of kids for being on a show. I know I can’t sing but if Simon cowel offered me the chance of being on xfaxtor I’d take it just for the crack. People need to get lives and leave them alone and enjoy the fun factor. They amuse me and are now the only reason I tune in because the show is just a joke now and atleast they make me smile. I hope they win now. They seam like really sweet lads. Goooooo Jedward x
dont believe anything you read the boys are just saying that for sympathy votes to get the numbers up simon cowell was right they would step over their mothers head . did you see any of the hate mail. Let the xfactor team show us it

Bit harsh that Kevin, I doubt anybody enjoys getting hate mail. I am not a John & Edward fan and would never vote for them, but sending hate mail is going a bit too far. I’m not surprised by it though, as they are hated by a good proportion of the viewers.
