X Factor’s Louis Walsh dumps Boyzone!
Louis Walsh has reportedly broken all ties with Boyzone and told them to break up.
The X Factor judge has managed the Irish boyband since he put them together in 1993 and last year, Walsh masterminded a reunion which saw them embark on a new UK tour and the release of another album.
However, the ticket sales for the tour were disappointing and their most recent single release – “Love Is a Hurricane” – only reached number 44 in the UK charts. Many believe that fans of the band never got over the tragic death of singer Steven Gately and think that Ronan Keating’s well publicised extra marital affair, hurt their public image.
A close source told The News Of The World:
“Louis has told Boyzone they’re finished. Ronan doesn’t want to accept it but without Louis they have no chance.”
“The affair changed everything for many fans. It destroyed the family-friendly image that made the band popular. They kept a diehard fanbase but the Brother tour earlier this year wasn’t a big success. Louis didn’t botherseeing a single show.
“The Boyz just couldn’t compete with the Take That comeback, and lots of tickets weren’t sold. So Louis decided it was the right time for the band to finish.”
A source close to Ronan, claimed that while he is currently concentrating on his TV work in Australia, he still sees himself as a member of Boyzone and believs the group can survive without Louis. They explained:
“He has other priorities at the moment but will always remain a proud member of Boyzone, and believes they will work together again in the future.
“Despite what Louis might say, in the end he had very little to do with Boyzone – and the last tour was actually a success.”

Slow news day for sure. Louis Walsh reportedly didn’t always pay the Boyz particularly well in the early days.
Their new album has sold well. Maybe a ‘bad hair day’ for Louis.
did Louis say this at all, maybe another stir up story, but do they need Louis, after all he seems past it now as well, the Album sold great guns, and have take thats singles from the last album done that well,no,as most have them already from again the Album, singles are finished these days anyway now, just an excuse to bring up the past year once again, they need to move on now with other and real stories.
But boyzone will carry on if this is true won’t they? The tour was the best one I’ve seen!! Who cares about singles anyway, they don’t mean anything when the album was at no. 1. To be honest who buys the single when they already have the album?
As a die hard Boyzone fan, the only thing i agree with in this whole article is the last sentance and the alleged comments from Ronan. I went to eight shows on the latest tour and each night was a full house, with an amazing reaction from the audience to a moving, lively show given to us by the band. As for the alleged affair, the vast majority of fans couldn’t care less about the whole situation. People are allowed to make mistakes- how else would you learn from them? Their personal lives have nothing to do with what make Boyzone Boyzone.
Louis has never done any good for the band, they are much better off without him. He is well known for trying to stir up trouble by exagerating situations. And he hasn’t actually been involved with them for quite a while- their manager is Mark Plunkett, who actually cares about them.
I guess it was a slow day for news?
The band have been through a lot in the last 20 months and are slowly finding their feet again. So people need to cut them some slack. If the success of their recent album “Brother” is anything to go by, i think they’re gonna be here for a long time to come. Singles are dead. It’s all about the album. And not paying any attention to two faced idiots like Louis Walsh.
Louis’s always been a liar. I went to varies different venues for their Brother concert’s, I can clearly state that not only were all performances a complete sucsess, they were very very well attended and I couldn’t see where Louis expected to fit more people in to the arenas. Maybe they could have sat on his GIANT EGO!!!!
As for Ronans marital troubles,Isn’t it hypocritical of anyone to condem him without condeming Mark Owen,How short are peoples memories, wasn’t Mark playing away as his child was born and throughout the time he married.
With the exception of Live aid in 85 the Brother Boyzone concerts were the best I’ve ever been to.
I can’t understand why this is called ‘news’ now when Louis was on Irish television a few months ago and when asked about boyzone he said he didn’t manage them anymore. i think It was their decision and not Louis.
