X Factor’s Olly Murs beating Gary Barlow in album chart but Kelly Rowland and Tulisa are flopping!
Olly Murs looks set to win the X Factor chart battle this week, which is no mean feat when you consider who he is up against.
The former X Factor contestant released his second album ‘In Case You Didn’t Know’ just yesterday, btu already it is quickly outselling the efforts of show judges Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos and Kelly Rowland.
After he performed his recent single ‘Dance With Me Tonight’ on The X Factor on Sunday, Olly’s album looks set to knock Rihanna’s Talk Talk off the number one spot this weekend, when the chart is confirmed.
At present, Gary’s Take That Progress Live album is claiming the number six spot, which isn’t bad considering the fact that the band have done no promotion of the record at all.
The real news in this weeks chart is how bad Barlow’s fellow X Factor judges are doing. Tulisa’s N-Dubz’ Greatest Hits was also released yesterday and so far, is charting just outside the top 40.
Kelly Rowland is doing even worse and despite her heavy promotion of ‘Here I Am’ over the last few weeks, at present sales of the album look pretty porr and the brunette beauty is charting at a disastrous No. 54.
We thought Cheryl Cole’s two solo albums only hit number one in the charts because she was The X Factor at the time….it seems that maybe we were wrong. Perhaps appearing on the most successful TV show in the country is not enough to guarantee good record sales after all.

Erm its only been a day since the albums came out. Calm yourselves down.
I know people are getting into a frazzle. I downloaded kellys album yesterday and think its fantastic. Give it time. Actually kellys album is number 18 on itunes downloads at the moment and nubz is at number 30
I bought it too and I hope it hits number one.If its doesn’t at least top ten for at least a couple of weeks its a great album, she will be performing next week though, I wonder If she’ll perform Keep it between too.
N-DUBZ album costs £7, whilst Kelly’s album costs £11. So sales figures may be to do with the difference in price. Obviously people may afford the less expensive one. I bought Kelly’s album yesterday and l can’t stop playing it. Out of all the 17 songs, maybe its only two that l didn’t real like. Its real good!
i’m pleased for olly that he’s doing so well, he seems like a nice guy. and god you’re not kidding when you say take that have had NO promotion for that album – i’m a fan and i had no idea it was even out! plus, the fact that it’s only a live album of the tour which they just did and they just released a dvd of said tour (which i’m pretty sure was a big no.1, so therefore this is the same thing without the picture, yeah? to get to no.6 is pretty amazing if you ask me! n-dubz i’m not a fan of, and tbh i’d REALLY struggle to name like, 3 of their songs (i can think of 2 atm, but they’re both collaborations), but in fairness i don’t think they’ve really done any promotion either. in saying that, still pretty dismal. kelly HAS done promotion though, and that position is just atrocious! (oh and btw – first day sales are 9/10 times the highest! especially nowadays with preorders!)
