X Factor’s Olly Murs, Matt Cardle, Cher Lloyd and JLS congratulate One Direction on Brit Awards 2012 win!
Earlier we brought some fabulous pictures of various X Factor familiar faces, from the red carpet of last night’s Brit Awards, but it seems that even the stars that didn’t attend the event, tweeted about it!
One Direction took their first ever award at the ceremony, winning in the Best Single category, for their debut hit ‘What Makes You Beautiful.
It was hardly a surprise, as the result was based on a public vote and we all know how many legions of fans are out there, actively supporting Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson.
Accepting their trophy the boys took the opportunity to effusively thank their fans and also announce their first ever UK arena tour for 2013 – you can get more details on dates and venues here.
After their amazing win, many fellow X Factor stars took to Twitter to congratulate their pals.
Former series winner Matt Cardle, who recently admitted that he is still in regular contact with the guys, tweeted:
“@onedirection well in boys!! New you would get it, super chuffed”
Xtra Factor presenter Olly Murs – who took to the stage during the show to perform his hit single ‘Heart Skips A Beat’ rather nervously – added:
“Also well done @onedirection top guys aswell!! Sure these lads will be having a cheeky few drinks tonight!! Well deserved!!”
Cher Lloyd, who was reportedly dating One Direction member Zayn Malik during their time on the show wrote:
“I loved seeing Adele live! Incredible! And a big congrats to 1D, well done boys!!!”
JLS – who have often acted as mentors to the boys, having previously been the most popular group to come out of the ITV show – added:
“Congrats to @onedirection on their first Brit Award! Well done lads..Marv and the boys.”
“Well done @onedirection enjoy tonight boys big love!J”
Marcus Collins was one of the few X Factor stars in London’s O2 Arena last night and he loved being the middle of such a star studded ceremony. The Liverpudlian star tweeted:
“@Brits_awards what an incredible start to the Brits! Wow! Home grown talent!!”
